Dinefwr Park and Castle is an important place in the history of Wales and is managed by the National Trust. The 12th century Dinefwr Castle looks out over the 10th century designed landscape which encloses a medieval deer park, home to over 100 fallow deer and to a small herd of White Park Cattle. The Castle also overlooks Newton House whose ground floor and basement are furnished based on the style of around 1912. On the first floor is an exhibition about Dinefwr’s history and landscape. There are several walks in the Park and guided tours and badger watches can be booked. Check the Dinefwr Park website for special events such as the Literature Festival, Food and Country Festival and the World Sheepdog Trials.
