“We had such a lovely break and was wowed by the area and beautiful scenery that surrounds the property.Feedback - Sep 2019
The house was very nice, the best points were the views, plenty of room, good clean crispy bed linen. And a lovely hamper of local produce.
“Absolutely amazing place - we had such a peaceful and restful week. Watamu is beautiful and just exudes calm. Sue is a great host and made sure we were welcomed and had all we need. Would love to come stay again!”Feedback - Sep 2019
“We loved our stay. Views are stunning. House comfort, décor and space marvellous. Also had annexe which was very good too. Use of store for bikes was very helpful. Some of our party camped and Sue allowed us to use the caravan and cabin. These are basic but very useful to increase toilet and shower availability for a big party. Thank you it was ideal and Sue was so helpful and friendly. A beautiful part of Wales. Also thank you for welcome baskets and delicious welsh products.”Feedback - Aug 2019

“The house has the most incredible views of the mountain and is secluded, yet still only 2 miles from Newport town. We had an amazing time exploring the coast and hills, and seeking out the Neolithic sites locally too.Feedback - Apr 2019
The beds were comfy and the house was clean and well appointed, with a lovely welcome basket. Our party consisted of 3 adults, 5 children and 2 dogs and we didn’t feel at all crowded.
A great holiday, we’ll be back!”
“Such a beautiful cottage in the most peaceful and relaxing surroundings. Beautiful decoration inside and wonderful views and countryside outside. Such a special place to spend with family and to get away from the business of normal life! Would highly recommend staying here.”Feedback - Apr 2019
“If you enjoy peace, tranquility but also space and an interior to die for this is the place for you. Owner has thought through every detail. It is in an especially magical area near Pentre Ifan, in the shade of Carnalingi Mountain and close to Neven chapel. It has a quality of being lost in time. If you like Good Food Newport has plenty to offer Local health Food Shop Wow!”Feedback - Jan 2019

“The narrow lanes from Newport take you to a special place, a secluded hideaway with amazing surroundings await at Watamu. The house is fantastic and the location perfect for exploring this part of Wales. Hills, woodlands, beaches and islands all waiting for perfect day trips. Newport is great for cafes, restaurants and shops and only a couple of miles from the house. Fingers crossed for some good weather and you'll have the ideal holiday location.”Feedback - Jul 2018

It was very special to look onto Carningli and even more special to walk up the mountain from the house. Newport is a lively and interesting town and great to explore, with lovely cafes.
It certainly would be a place we would want to come back to in the future.”

“A fabulous cottage in a beautiful location; everything you need in a home from home. Very spacious accommodation and plenty of room for our stay. Newport is a delight with a wonderful beach, interesting shops and inviting and very dog friendly pubs. We loved our stay and hope to return one day.”Feedback - Sep 2017
“We thoroughly enjoyed our stayFeedback - Sep 2017
The house was easy to get into with the key box system and was very welcoming. The double bedroom at the front of the house was lovely, the bed was super comfortable it’s only downside was a smell of damp. The windows are very easy to open so airing the room was an easy fix for us.
It’s a very well equipped house, much better than lots of other places and the mix of furnishings is charming. We found everything easy to use and there were instruction manuals for everything. (The one for the cooker isn’t for the cooker that is there now)
Newport is a two and a bit mile walk so good for building up an appetite.
The owner has paid good attention to detail in this lovely property and we really enjoyed our week there.”
“A beautiful house with inspiring views. The best cottage we've ever hired...and we've tried many!Feedback - Sep 2017
“Watamu was one of the best cottages we have ever stayed in. Beautifully presented and spacious, right in the heart of the Welsh countryside with lovely views of the mountains. Very rural which was completed intended. We all felt incredibly at home with all the cosy home like quirks of the cottage.”Feedback - Sep 2017
“My family and I had a lovely stay at Watamu Cottage. The layout of the kitchen/diner made it very sociable for us all to sit at breakfast/dinner together and just chat and have fun! The view from the back garden was glorious to look at every morning when I went outside with my cup of coffee. My grandchildren loved looking at the sheep in the field and generally playing in the garden. On several evenings we all sat around the firepit roasting marshmallows and talking about our day, listening to the local wildlife or the music coming from the Brewery, which is only 300 metres from the cottage.Feedback - Aug 2017
It is a great place to stay with all the family.”
“We loved our stay in Watamu! The location was amazing, looking out on that view every day was just fabulous! We made good use of the fire pit with lots of toasted marshmallows! The house was well laid out with lots of space in the kitchen and lounge and well equipped with all the things we needed. Only very small downside was the pillows and a few items that required fixing in the garden. We are definitely hoping to come back soon!”Feedback - Jul 2017
“Thank you for one wonderful week! The house is perfect for two families like we were. We enjoyed our stay very much!!!Feedback - Jun 2017
The rooms were vey nice, also the beds. The bathroom downstairs and the shower were great. (The bathroom under the roof is not for tall people)
In the kitchen there was everything you needed. We enjoyed the view into the garden and the mountain!!
Our kids liked the good WiFi. We spent al lot of time in the livingroom (because the weather wasn't so good) and it was very comfortable and leisurely. The terrace was great, also the garden.
We made many trips from here, you can reach every part of Pembrokeshire from here in a short time. Also did we enjoy our hike to he mountain you see from the kitchen diner. Everyboody should go there, the panoramic view from the top is overwhelming!!
Also Pnetre Ifan is a must for every guest!
There is a very good shop in Newport, you find everything you need for cooking.
All together we loves staying in this wonderful house, thank you so much!!”
“We have had a lovely week in Watamu, and were blown away when we arrived, it is a beautiful and cozy home which we feel fitted us perfectly as a large family. We love your taste! An excellent background, great location. All in all a home from home that we would love to return to. Thank you!”Ballard family, February 2017

“A lovely colourful house with gorgeous views. Incredibly comfy beds. The dogs thought it was brilliant too!”Feedback - Oct 2016
“Thank you so much for a lovely stay. The garden was fabulous for those with dogs, straight out the back door and on their walk! Really homely feel to the place and it's clearly very loved by its owners. The attic bedroom was gorgeous, we LOVED that massive bed. The kitchen-diner was great for groups. Newport is a short drive away and easy to find. There's a handful of really good places to eat and the beach was beautiful. Thanks again... we will be back xxx”Feedback - Sep 2016
“We had a fabulous week at Watamu, a great location for exploring all the beeches in north west Pembrokshire.”Feedback - Aug 2016
“Watamu certainly lived up to its name, ('home of the lovely people' in Swahili). Clearly a lot of love has been devoted to its modern rustic design features. We loved the view of the sun setting behind the mountain from the decking area, the vibrant, easy to light wood-burning stove in the sitting room and the general feel of a relaxed house that has been thoughtfully furnished. Access to excellent places to eat in nearby Newport and surrounds meant we did not use the six-burner stove with an oven big enough to roast a couple of turkeys to its full potential.Feedback - May 2016
In short, the whole family loved it.”
“COTTAGE VERY BEAUTIFUL AND HOMELY. The children loved the outside space. Thanks for the stay it was amazing!”Gary and family, April 2016
“We really enjoyed our stay at Watamu, it is a beautifully decorated, spacious cottage with fantastic scenery all around. We were a party of four adults and four young children. There was plenty to do, the kids loved playing in garden and we even had barbecue/ toasted marshmallows on fire one night. We would definitely return!”Feedback - Apr 2016
“The cottage is absolutely amazing. Lovely views, lovely time with lovely place on our door step. The candle workshop nearby is the smallest museum in the world. Bluestone brewery and farm was lovely especially with the lambs that were 2 days old!”Alison and family, March 2016
“Thank you for a wonderful stay. The weather was a bit hit and miss but we’ve enjoyed Newport sands, Dinas Head, St Davids, and climbing the mountain behind the house. We’ve made use of the bbq and the fire pit which was fabulous. The house was very comfortable and spacious. A perfect place for a great adventure.”Jo, Frank, Will, Ralf, Cook, Aug 2015
“We were staggered by the beauty and remoteness of the cottage and Cilgwyn. We did a fair bit of cooking each day and found that the kitchen was the hub of our indoor activities. The back garden and porch were a dream to view each day. Our favourite trips were to Newport beach, St Davids Castle and a lovely family meal at Salutations Inn, not far from the main road leading to Cardigan. We would recommend this place to any family wanting peace, quiet and easy access to the key parts of Pembrokeshire if they don’t mind driving down windy roads. Thanks for an excellent introduction to wales and Pembrokeshire and we wish continued success for the owners and an equally pleasant stay for all future guests.”Family of Oscar and Cherep, Aug 2015
“After a Gap of 20 years or so, it was nice to be back in Pembrokeshire. The location is great and the view from the patio stunning. We’re ready to stay another week. We enjoyed the walk around Dinas, The Village, The Castle at Nevern, The beach at Newport and the local food and drink. Special mentions to the Royal Oak.”Chappell and Watts, Aug 2015
“What a beautiful place to stay for a week of comfort. Fresh air and time with the family. Thank you for all the little luxuries. We had a wonderful stay and the sunshine on our last couple of days helped us leave with a smile on our faces.”The C Kennys, Aug 2015

“We came and stayed for a great family week together and loved the magic of Cilgwyn. It was lovely walking up to see Kerry and Simon at Blue stone Brewery and we were enchanted by Ty Canol woods. Thanks for providing the basics in the kitchen. Loved staying and will be back to do more walking, talking and climbing. What a Fab house.”Cheka, Weety, Johnny, Hass and Jay, July 2015
