Bronwydd

Just north of Carmarthen. Much on surfaced tracks and lanes. Steep woodland on the side of the river Gwili was coppiced in the past. There's a steep climb to the top of Cerig Fawr, where views are good and there is Iron Age fort on summit. Other important neolithic monuments are at Crug, near Newchurch.

Best done as a circular walk if you don't mind returning via a lovely back lane to St Davids. It is quite a flat walk. Visit the cute little chapel of St Non's, little inlet of Porth Clais and the larger beach at Porthlysgi. From the headland you can see Ramsey Island.

Easy to moderate with fields and livestock, stone stiles and steps. Some parts are muddy. 1.5 miles minor road. Start Carew or Cresswell. The walk is 2 loops joined by a straight stretch so you can cut bits out at will.
