Tyddyn Llafar is a deliciously remote and secluded stone barn with breathtaking views of Llyn Tegid (Bala Lake) and the Arenig mountain range. It is the perfect romantic couple’s hideaway, perched high on the hillside above the hamlet of Llangower in the Snowdonia National Park.

Tyddyn Llafar is 5 miles from the historic market town of Bala. This area is known as the ‘Welsh Lake District’, and encompasses Llyn Tegid (Bala Lake), Lake Vyrnwy (Llyn Efyrnwy), Llyn Celyn and Llyn Brenig. These magical lakes and their fast flowing rivers provide opportunities for sailing, wind surfing, canoeing, rafting and fishing.

For those who don’t like getting their feet wet, then the local mountain ranges of the Arans, Arenigs and Berwyns, provide miles of jaw-dropping views and walks, whilst Penllyn Forest is a mountain biker’s paradise.

For seaside lovers, we recommended the undulating dunes at Barmouth or the picturesque seaside village of Aberdovey. Both are a 30 – 40 minute drive across some of the Snowdonia National Park’s most spectacular scenery.
