Tyclyd is a charming terraced cottage with stunning sea views over Cardigan Bay. Situated in a quiet lane above the harbour in New Quay, Ceredigion it is only 5 minutes’ walk to the nearest golden sandy Blue Flag beach. The centre of the seaside town has all the essential amenities within walking distance with a variety of cafés, takeaways, pubs and restaurants.

A water sports centre is open daily where you can hire boats, boards and kayaks for all ages. Cardigan Bay is home to bottlenose dolphins which can be spotted most days, and often from the sitting room window or take a boat trip available from the harbour.

There are plenty of opportunities for walking the coast path or along the sands of Traeth Gwyn to Cei Bach and beyond. Fishing trips are available from the harbour, or if you bring your own rods, you can fish from the harbour wall. With everything on your doorstep, you can abandon your car and enjoy the laid-back, unhurried pace of life that is West Wales.

Arrival and car parking

The entrance to Picton Terrace has a very steep decline off the main road, leading to the houses. Picton Terrace has a gradual decline leading onto Picton Crescent and at the bottom of Picton Crescent the road leading to the beaches are also very steep.
Parking on the road in front of the property is subject to availability and not reserved for the property
There are car parks within walking distance from the house, on Church Road with weekly season tickets available and charges per day
Further parking can be found at Park Street (Behind Cost Cutters) and Rock Street Car Park in the town
There is one step up off the tarmac road into the front porch, with a further two steps up to the front door
Keys are located in a key safe in the porch
The owner will provide the access code on completion of payment

Inside

Inside the property the floor in the hall is of slate slabs, with carpet runners. There are carpets throughout the lounge, stairs/landing and bedrooms except for bedroom one, which are floorboards. There are rugs on the floors of the kitchen, hall and bedrooms. The kitchen and bathroom are vinyl floors to facilitate easy cleaning. The kitchen has a double oven and grill, fridge freezer and washing machine and usual small appliances
There is a fire blanket in the kitchen and a small fire extinguisher in the utility room
There is a 32inch TV Free-sat channels and DVD player with DVDs in the lounge
There are electric radiators throughout the property which are operated by the owner via WiFi, but set at a comfortable temperature, there is also an electric log burner effect fire available for cosy evenings
There is an electric towel rail in the bathroom and an electric shower – switch to operate is outside the bathroom door
The hot water system is set to come on 3 times a day to keep you supplied with hot water. Please be careful as the water is VERY HOT !!, please beware that the hot water comes out of the taps very slowly due to low pressure (Common to the area
The property benefits from unlimited superfast fibre broadband – the router code is in the owner’s handbook and on the TV Stand. Please ensure that this is not removed so it is available for the next guest. The owners are not responsible for any service interruptions due to weather conditions or maintenance activities. Please ensure that you use the WiFi in accordance with BT’s terms
There are smoke alarms in the property – we ask that you test these to satisfy yourself they are working and notify the owners if not
There is plenty of space in bedroom 1 for a travel cot
There are two steps down leading from the landing into bedroom 2
Bedroom 3 has a set of bunk beds, the bottom bunk is suitable for an adult, please supervise young children when on the bunk beds
You will also find a highchair and changing mat underneath the bunks for your use

Outside

Please note there are steps up from the rear of the property to the main garden – Not suitable for the elderly or infirm, or wheelchairs
Please take care on the steps, they are steep, it is recommended that children are always supervised
There is a handrail to aid the steps, and an outside light available (switch in the kitchen)
The garden area is fully enclosed and is dog proof
A seating area is also available with a garden furniture set
Outside the front of the house is a garden bench for you to enjoy the views, with a step up from the road, there is also a council streetlight immediately outside the house
