“Ty Rhos Mair was a lovely place for us to stay for a holiday. The house had a lovely atmosphere and we had all that was needed for the week. There was plenty of room for us. A spacious kitchen. The bedrooms were very pleasantly prepared for us with comfortable beds and lovely bed linen. Very welcoming after a long day exploring the beautiful Welsh countryside and coast. Everything was of a high standard. A lovely lush garden to relax in. I must add that people living nearby were very friendly and made us feel welcome.”

We can’t thank Lindsay enough for all the preparation that went into ensuring our stay was as safe as it could be in current times, especially as we had two young children. “Totally adorable cottage, beautiful and enchanting! Lovely garden too! Everything you need there and toasty warm too. Stylishly decorated and good quality everything. I was surprised how close the beach was - just a gentle 7 minute walk down a tiny lane and you’re there.
New Quay a 5 minute drive. Fantastic beaches nearby, fishing, hiking, dolphins, hidden waterfalls etc

Heavenly stay, we will be back!”

“We were a family of 8 ( plus Dylan the dawg) staying at Ty Rhos Mair over Christmas Week 2019
We loved the cottage- the quirky nature of the layout- 2 front rooms - small doorway to kitchen. Lindsay had made the cottage very welcoming including a real Christmas tree, and had a very useful, comprehensive induction. We all slept wonderfully on the excellent quality beds with beautiful bedding.
The kitchen worked perfectly.. the size meant we could all be together whilst cooking..the table sat 8 and the the kitchen was very well equipped.
The owners have made the cottage as eco friendly as possible- the main heating source was wood pellet burner that was very efficient.
The garden was fully enclosed - perfect for the dog.. and the location sublime. We had a wonderful break - walking to the beach from the cottage.. known for its honeycomb worm coral type structures. The children swam in the sea on Christmas Day .. brave souls..
We look forward to returning to this beautifully renovated cottage to experience a warmer clime.”

“Great location and the owners were great with their communication from the moment we booked. The accommodation was great for our family, particularly as my dad is disabled and struggles with stairs so the downstairs bathroom, bedrooms and easy access were really excellent.
West Wales was a beautiful almost unexpectedly beautiful coastline and area! Definitely we would come back!”

“Can't praise this cottage highly enough! One of the best in over 40years of self catering.
A real home from home with everything you need and more besides.
Everywhere was spotlessly clean and the welcome gift of eggs, flowers, milk and cheese were very much appreciated.
The weather was very kind to us so we had time to relax in the splendid dog-friendly garden too!
Thank you Lindsay and Jason.
We hope to be back very soon.”

“We really enjoyed our stay at this beautiful old cottage. There was plenty of space for three couples plus two children and a baby. Every need was catered for including a well equipped kitchen, games for the children, logs for the fire etc. The beds were comfortable with nice quality bedding. The secluded spacious garden was an added bonus where we spent time having barbecues and just relaxing. The local beach was just a short walk away and the beach at New Quay was a bit further but only a short car ride. The owners were friendly and easy to communicate with. We would thoroughly recommend this lovely holiday cottage.”

“We had an absolutely lovely stay at Ty Rhos Mair!
The cottage was very well equipped, with everything you could possibly need. Plenty of room to allow for everyone to have a bit of their own space. The Garden, well, WOW! We were lucky enough to have some lovely weather to enjoy it!
Communication with the owner was without issue, and Lindsay was very helpful! Looking forward to booking our next visit!”

“What a beautiful cottage! The property is just as charming as the pictures suggest; full of character and sympathetically restored but with all mod cons. Six of us stayed for one week and the space was absolutely perfect; a sitting room for the grown-ups and one for the children to cover in Lego and toys. The homely feel really made our stay special, and the extra little touches were very much appreciated. Our growing family has been holidaying together for many years, and this is the first property that we ALL loved!”

“Perfect family cottage with a lovely garden. Close to the beach and amenities. Faultless. We had a lovely week! The owners were kind enough to leave some lovely eggs and cheese for us to enjoy. They also posted our daughter's teddy bear when we left it behind!”

Feedback - Jun 2017

“The property is faultless. The cottage is "olde world" as well as being modern with the very up to date kitchen and downstairs double bedroom with en suite. The garden is large with a summer house and an excellent set of garden furniture. The surrounding area is very quiet with the sound of birdsong being the exception. I would recommend this cottage to anyone who wanted to relax completely. There is a dog friendly beach within walking distance and a walk via the beach to New Quay is highly recommended.”

“Beautiful, well equipped cottage in a lovely quiet area. Cottage had everything you need. Welcoming owners who gave a warm welcome. A lovely walks around the area especially down to Cei Bach beach. Great garden to sit in with lovely bluebells dotted around. Dog enjoyed the space to run around. Would highly recommend a stay here and would definately come back ourselves.”

“We had a fantastic time at this delightful cottage despite the mixed weather as we stayed in March. We enjoyed cosy evenings in front of the fires. Spacious bedrooms. Lovely well equipped kitchen. Garden is fabulous for enjoying the sun. Excellent walks to the nearby beach and into New Quay where there are great places to eat and Dolphins and Red Kites can be spotted. Great location as there are plenty of things to visit locally within short car journeys. We are looking forward to a return visit.”

“A beautiful cottage really well equipped with all the basics, plus a few extras. There was a good stock of basics, tea, coffee, sugar, flour, oil, condiments and the wine was gratefully received!!It was spotlessly clean and the garden is beautiful. It's situated in a really convenient, but quiet location close to Newquay and for visiting other coastal towns nearby. We had 6 adults, 3 children and a dog in the party, all had a fantastic time! I thoroughly recommend a stay!”

“We wanted to let you know how happy we were with our stay in your beautiful cottage. We felt relaxed and totally at home, it was lovely to all be together and at the same time not on top of each other. You really have made it the perfect holiday cottage, thinking of every little thing, from having everything we needed to the lovely cheese and wine you left us ( cheese was lush) along with the beautiful flowers, all the little touches that made our family holiday such a wonderful experience with lots of great memories made.”

“We had a lovely week here. The cottage is wonderful. Very spacious and piles of character. The feature burner in the kitchen is super-we want one!!And all the more period features too-we loved the feeling of history to the cottage. The weather has been wonderful. The beaches are beautiful. We love Tresaith! And the Ship Inn! Thank you for the recommendation. The children have been very happy exploring on the rocks of this beach. followed by some good lunches in the Ship Inn. And our dog has had a ball as well! Thank you Lindsay and Jason for a lovely, relaxing family time. Our first visit to Wales has been a great one. We will be back! PS Went to Penbryn Beach as well. “We have just celebrated Christmas 2015 with all the family at this cottage. The attention to detail was second to none. The owner had left welcome goodies for Christmas and a Christmas tree. The cottage was warm and welcoming it felt like a hotel.
It had a well equip kitchen for cooking Christmas dinner for 8 people.
We had a very nice week and would recommend anyone to come for visit. The area is great too; like Cornwall but without the traffic!! We want to come back during the summer next time.”

“What a brilliant cottage-especially loved the garden and fire pit. Our toddlers really enjoyed running through the house in circular! We loved walking to the beach, the honey farm, Llanerchaeron and Mwnt. You’re really thoughtful about what people need to make a home away from home for families. Thank you!”
