Gilfachreda, New Quay, Ceredigion
Character cottage in New Quay on Cardigan Bay with modern and Victorian features. Less than a mile to sandy beaches. A superb property for gatherings and large families. (4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms)
Just outside New Quay on Cardigan Bay, less than a mile from sandy beaches, Ty Rhos Mair (Rosemary Cottage) offers comfortable family accommodation with original Victorian features in a fully modernised home. Lovingly and lavishly refurbished, with original wooden floors and fireplace restored to bring warmth inside, this cottage really feels like home.
In spring and summer, relax in the very large and secluded back garden full of birdsong and butterflies. In winter, curl up together in front of a real coal fire, or move to the other lounge for a film and log burner. Take a walk along quiet country lanes to discover this unspoilt part of the Cardigan coast, a marine conservation area and explore the rock pools at low tide.
The location is perfect for those who want to enjoy both coastal and country walks, with 2 quiet bays and the Wales coastal path only 10 minutes walk away, and the hustle and bustle of New Quay (2 miles). Sit on the harbour wall with fish and chips and ice cream, watching dolphins, explore the local shops and eateries, or take a boat trip around the bay and see the seals basking on the rocks and the numerous sea birds nesting on the cliffs. Or head to Aberaeron (10-minute drive) and enjoy this Georgian harbour town, crabbing over the harbour wall or enjoying the famous honey ice cream.
There are many beaches to explore along the coast, eateries to try, adventure parks to spend a day, and so much more. It will be a holiday to remember for years to come: put beautifully by some of our very first guests “this is not just a holiday cottage but a home… thank you for being part of such wonderful memories”.
