Ty Melyn Mair (Marigold Cottage) is a characterful retreat full of rustic charm, nestled in the quiet hamlet of Gilfachrheda. Nearby is the picturesque coastal town of New Quay once the home of Dylan Thomas. Just a few minutes walk down a delightful country lane from Ty Melyn Mair are two beautiful, unspoilt beaches, Cei Bach and Llanina. These are both dog-friendly all year round. At low tide it is possible to walk to Newquay across the sandy beach, arriving amidst the boats and seaside atmosphere of this picturesque town.

New Quay is the mid-point of the All Wales Coast Path – the perfect destination for wildlife lovers, watersports enthusiasts or those wanting to explore the great outdoors. You can also stroll around the many restaurants, cafes, bars, and shops that you will find in this lovely little town.

The harbour has a 200-year-old stone pier extending out to sea: a wonderful place to look out and spot the famous bottlenose dolphins, and the perfect place to enjoy an ice cream or fish and chips.

There are many sandy beaches in the area at Tresaith, Penbryn, Mwnt and Llangrannog – to name a few. From New Quay it is easy to explore Cardigan Bay, the market towns of Aberaeron and Cardigan, and the bustling University town of Aberystwyth.
