Ffos Las Racecourse

y. Ffos Las has staged both National Hunt and Flat fixtures. The racing programme is of a very high quality and those who attend are guaranteed a feast of good racing. With excellent facilities for the race-goer, including ample free parking and a large stand housing plenty of bars and betting outlets, Ffos Las offers a great view of high quality racing in picturesque surroundings. You can’t beat the spectacle and colour of seeing racehorses and jockeys close up, the bustling activity that surrounds the betting and the lively excitement of the race itself. As with any sport the more you know about what’s going on, the more fun you’ll get out of your day. The website offers an introductory guide to racing which is designed specifically to increase your enjoyment, so just click on the link below to find out our top tips and essential advice. Ffos Las Racecourse does not operate a strict dress code for general admission, but would ask all customers to wear smart, casual clothing. The dress code policy for hospitality areas is smart casual which excludes jeans, trainers and rugby or football shirts. To enjoy a day’s racing to the full may require a good deal of walking around so give particular thought to your footwear! The closer you get to the time of the first race, the busier the traffic will be so we suggest you aim to arrive about an hour and a half before the first race. This will give you time to get to know the geography of the track and check out the racecourses facilities. The action will commence about half an hour before the advertised time of the first race, when the runners will be taken in the pre-parade ring to be saddled up. There is a large selection of food and drink for sale but if you would like a table at one of the restaurants it is necessary to book in advance. Please note, we do not allow race-goers to bring their own food and drink into Ffos Las. Children under 16 (accompanied by an adult) free entry. For a really great day out of excitement, come to Ffos Las!

If you have never been trail riding before, the usual meeting place is a few miles inland from Aberystwyth and will include stream crossings and hills which can be challenging, particularly in wet weather. Both routes take you to some of the remotest areas in Wales, with absolutely stunning views as long as it isn’t raining! If it is raining (and this is Wales after all!) trail riding can be really good fun as you end up splashing along in little streams and fording deep puddles.
