The Wren’s Nest is a perfect tiny woodland retreat, found half way up the little wooded valley of Nant Gwyddil at the end of a winding lane and an old track. It is one end of the 300 year old stone buildings of Pen Pynfarch. The Wren’s Nest has a simple feel with a stained wooden floor and natural materials of wood and slate. It is very private and faces the woodland valley with beautiful views of the tree canopy and birds soaring above it.

A stay here offers a chance for real peace and seclusion. You can retreat from the bustle of modern life and experience the richness and diversity of the natural world and of the wildlife that has found haven in this wild corner of West Wales. The Wren’s Nest is a perfect place to hide away for a while or to use as a base to explore the surrounding area.

Just outside your door there is our woodland valley to explore. You can sit on a terrace overlooking the valley or stroll in our woods, round the lake and along the old mill leat. You’ll find a stream, a small lake with a spot that’s perfect for picnics and camp fires, moss covered trees, old ruins, a stunning diversity of wild flowers and wildlife. If you’re very quiet (and like getting up very early!) you may even glimpse an otter. For children, it’s a perfect place to pull on your wellies and go on small adventures. There’s our friendly cats to meet, and ducks on the pond. We have a swing in a tree and some outdoors games for the lawn.

You can walk to the nearest village of Llandysul along the old Railway line in about 30 minutes. It’s an old market town where you hear Welsh spoken in the streets. There are shops with local produce, a great Italian cafe, Post Office, banks, swimming pool and gym in the village.

If you feel like venturing further afield you are only 30 minutes drive from the magical beaches and rugged coastline of Cardigan Bay and within easy reach of excellent walking, mountain biking and other outdoor activities such as canoeing and coasteering.

We are 10 minutes drive - or 15 minutes cycle ride- from Llandysul and 30 minutes drive from the market towns of Newcastle Emlyn, Lampeter and Carmarthen.

The Wren’s Nest sleeps 2 in one bedroom with space for a child on a sofa bed in the living room or in a cot.

There's a tiny cosy bedroom with an antique double bed. You can open a hatch window into the kitchen space.

The L-shaped living space has a sofa bed, a couple of arm chairs and an antique dining table with a view of the valley. The kitchen corner is fully equipped, with fridge & gas cooker.

The washroom has a walk-in shower, basin and a modern Seperate composting toilet.

There is a BBQ available to use.
