The Penny Red

Pre-arrival

• Aberporth is easily accessible by car.There are regular bus services and plenty of taxi services to Aberporth from most main towns. Please contact us for any travel advice.
• The nearest town is Cardigan which is 7 miles from Aberporth.
• The Penny Red does not accommodate dogs.
• The Penny Red is a no smoking property.
• Mobile phone reception varies from good to poor dependent on Network Provider. Please contact us if concerned.
• Wi-Fi internet access is provided free of charge with a fair usage policy.
• A cot and high chair can be provided on request.
• We welcome enquiries from Disabled Visitors, so please contact us to discuss your individual requirements.

Arrival and car parking

• The car park at the property leads directly on to the main road.
• The Penny Red has one allocated car parking space alongside the property. The entrance to The Penny Red is approximately 8 meters from the car parking space and then up 27 steps.
• There is also a public car park opposite the property which includes spaces allocated for disabled visitors. The car park is available at a small daily charge but allows no car parking overnight.
• There are regular buses to and from Aberporth with bus stops within 500 meters of The Old Post Office. There are also local taxi companies to use.
• The car park area is level and made of hardcore. The car park is fitted with an automatic light which is activated should you arrive at the property in poor light. Access to the property is from the car park through a wide wooden gate to a flat, paved communal area. There are two flights of external stairs to The Penny Red. The steps are metal and have a handrail. The steps are steeper than most modern staircases. Lights illuminate the area for use in partial light or at night. Once the two flights of stairs have been climbed there is another 2 steps to both doors to The Penny Red.

Entrance

• Once the two flights of stairs have been climbed (25 steps in total) there is another 2 steps to the door to The Penny Red.
• There is an outside light operated by an outside switch for use at night or in poor light.
• The door is of standard width.
• The entrance area is surrounded by wood and metal railings.

Interior

• The living area of The Penny Red is open plan. Doors to the bathroom, bedrooms and en-suite are of standard width. Double patio doors open to a glass lined balcony. There is a step from the living area to the balcony.
• The property has gas central heating.
• The kitchen/living area is fitted with an oak affect vinyl floor surrounded with white skirting board except in the kitchen where the flooring meets a walnut plinth. The plinth is fitted with lights to illuminate this area if desired.
• The bedrooms are carpeted with light brown carpet and white skirting.
• The bathroom is tiled with dark grey/brown tiles against white skirting, a bath panel, toilet and basin. There is a toughened glass and aluminum shower screen in the bathroom.
• The en-suite is tiled with dark grey/brown tiles against cream tiles, a white basin and toilet and an aluminum and glass shower screen.
• There are no steps in the apartment itself.
• There are mats placed on the floors at each of each of the external doors.
• Throughout the property there are spotlights, wall lights and lamps. Most are fitted with a dimmer control. There are under cupboard and plinth lights fitted in the kitchen. There are blue floor lights and wall lights on the balcony.
• The patio doors leading to and from the balcony are fully glazed.
• Unless where previously stated, there is a good contrast between walls, floors and doors.
• Hypo-allergic pillows and duvets are available on request.
• The property is protected with an intruder alarm.
• There are smoke and carbon monoxide alarms and a fire extinguisher and blanket in the property.

Kitchen

• The height of the work surface is standard (91 cm).
• The sink is fitted with a lever tap.
• There is a cordless kettle.
• The dishwasher, oven and washer dryer are all as standard.
• The electric hob has touch controls.

Living and Dining Room

• The dining table is pine (76cm in height) has 6 pine chairs.
• There is a three seat and two seat brown leather settee in the living area and two small leather cube beanbags.
• The Freeview TV is wall mounted and has flat screen and operated by a remote control.

Bedroom 1

• Width of space between bed and wall at the widest side is 140cm
• Zip link bed – king size or two singles.
• The Freeview TV and DVD player is wall mounted and has a flat screen operated by a remote control.

Bedroom 2

• Width of space between bed and wall at the widest side is 125cm.
• Double bed.
• The Freeview TV and DVD player is wall mounted and has a flat screen operated by a remote control.

Bathroom

• The small bathroom consists of an L shaped bath with a mounted but moveable hand shower also in the bath.
• There is a basin and toilet.
• The shower screen is made of safety glass and aluminum.
• There are no support rails.
• The sink and bath have lever taps and the shower modern twist taps.
• The widest point to bath entry is 100cm.
• The widest point to the toilet edge is 70cm.

En-Suite

• The en-suite consists of a walk in overhead rain shower. There is also a hand shower attached to the main shower.
• The folding shower screen is made of safety glass and an aluminum frame.
• There is a small basin and toilet.
• There are no support rails. 
• The sink has a lever tap and the shower modern twist taps.
• The widest point to shower entry is 100cm.
• The widest point to the toilet edge is 80cm.

The Balcony

• Consists of 180 square meters.
• Is glass lined with an aluminum handrail.
• There are 6 folding chairs with a safety glass and metal framed table.
