“Despite dreadful weather (all week) and the Covid 19 restrictions our stay at The Hideaway was perfect. The property is set in the most idyllic countryside but within easy access to the coast, the Preseli Hills and of course the magical town of Cardigan. However, the icing on the cake was the owners who made us feel very welcome - thank you.”

“The Hideaway offers very cosy and comfortable accommodation which is a perfect base for a couple wishing to explore moor, mountain and coast in this delightful corner of Wales. The owners are welcoming and friendly, as are their two dogs! We had a thoroughly enjoyable week despite the variable weather, and we were never lost for something to do come rain or shine.”

“Well, we haven't left yet but we can't wait to come back to this little gem! All you could wish for and more, just perfect. We've never slept so well, been made to feel so welcome and looked after. Mandy and Derek "thank you for everything". Kizzi's had a fab time too, her first visit to a beach, we did so many, she's a very tired but happy pup, she sends her love to you both and to Pip and Tig too xx" Jane, Danny and Kizzi”

“Despite getting lost down country lanes( would advise that visitors follow Mandy's instructions not satnav) and torrential rain and flooded back roads when we arrived we were given a very warm welcome by Mandy and Derek. Lovely hosts. The Hideaway was warm and comfortable. The secure paved area provided a safe area for our 2 dogs. This base was ideal for visiting the suppounding area and sights. Loverly beaches to visit within easy reach. Would love to visit in the summer months when the country side ground is drier and to be able to sit in the summer house with a glass of wine just listening to nature and letting the world go by in a wonderful setting. Thank you Mandy and Derek.”

“Thought "The Hideaway" was a very good name. As it was such a nice little place to stay and relax in the countryside. Was so nice to just sit in the garden watching the wildlife. Buster (our French Bulldog) loved exploring the secret garden, and the summer house. Was nice chatting to Mandy about her sheep and the wool she gets from them. And just had to buy some wool. We will be coming back soon. As want to see a lot more of the country and coasts around here.

“The welcome was friendly and the owners very nice people, giving us tips on places to visit and asking us about our day when we returned. The freshly laid eggs and Welsh cakes on arrival were a nice touch. The location is beautiful and very peaceful and most places of interest were within easy reach. The accommodation was small but well-equipped and a summer house is available to sit in to have a drink & watch the sun go down, with lovely views over the fields & hills. All in all a very enjoyable stay.”

“Thanks for stay - very relaxing even with a six year old! Glad to see Dolwilym is still unspoilt and the valley is as beautiful as I remember it - place of many fabled parties in the early 80's. Beautiful countryside and saw many kites and buzzards. Thanks for your hospitality and best wishes”

Julie and Izzy, Aug 2017

“A wonderful week of visiting this lovely area. Bijou cottage equipped with everything required for self catering. Comfy bed much appreciated!”

Cyd and George, July 2017

“I searched long and hard for somewhere to take my grumpy old nearly blind dog on holiday. Had to be school holidays, wanted a rural location where we could choose to visit places but also get some peace and quiet; The Hideaway was simply perfect!
The owners were very understanding of my old lady and the annec has everything you could need. It was simply spotless and I've stayed in plenty of hotels that wouldn't come close to their standards. The kitchen has everything from cutlery, to kitchen roll, sponges, bottle opener, all those little things you usually have to buy, but not here.
The complimentary fresh free range eggs and welshcakes were a superb welcome.
I can't recommend it enough. Many Thanks!”

“The cottage was cosy and warm - perfect size to use as a base - it was nice to find somewhere that is dog friendly. We've seen everywhere, really enjoyed the boat trip from Gwbert, St Davids is a must to see! We finished off with a whistle stop tour of the coast with breathtaking views. Found Mandy and Derek to be very welcoming and thank you for the Welsh Cakes and Egg. Will be back again soon”

Cathie and Helen, April 2017

“Such a cosy 2 person cottage in beautiful peaceful area surrounded by pretty villages and within comfortable driving distance to larger towns and wonderful coastline/beaches. Such a pleasure meeting the owners Mandy & Derek, not forgetting their three dogs. The breakfast time greeting of 'come and play' from 'Tash' was a daily treat. We rushed back each day just to sit in the sun house with a cuppa or glass of wine and watch each day's gloriously different sunset. We highly recommend this place...we will come back for sure.. Very best wishes to you both, hugs for the dogs"”

Eileen and Dave, Essex, September 2016

“Small but perfectly formed, that's 'The Hideaway'. It has everything to hand. Everything seems to have been thought through so carefully by Mandy and Derek, from decent sharp knives in the kitchen to night lights, up to date leaflets and the 'welcome' milk in the fridge. I can't see us staying anywhere else now that we have found you.”
