Special Offers

This former Coach House is tucked away within the historic grounds of 12th-century Cardigan Castle and has been elegantly reimagined as an accessible  studio apartment. This charming retreat features stylish interiors and its own enclosed patio garden—perfect for relaxing in privacy.

Cardigan Castle (Castell Aberteifi) occupies a unique and important place in Welsh heritage. Thought to be the first stone castle ever built by a Welshman, it was the site of a grand cultural gathering in 1176. Rhys ap Gruffydd (Lord Rhys) hosted a celebration of poetry, music, and storytelling here—believed to be the very first Eisteddfod, and the beginning of a national tradition that continues to thrive today.

2026 celebrates the 850th anniversary of the first ever Eisteddfod which was held in Cardigan alongside Eisteddfod 2026 being held just a stone’s throw away in Llantood. A unique piece of Welsh History

This magical setting offers a rich blend of romance, history, and tranquillity. Couples will fall in love with the castle’s atmospheric beauty, while history lovers will delight in exploring the exhibitions and centuries-old stone walls that whisper tales of the past.

Spend your days enjoying the peaceful castle grounds, discovering the breath-taking coastline of Cardigan Bay, or strolling through the vibrant town with its independent shops and galleries. In the evenings, savour dinner at the on-site restaurant ‘1176’ or choose from the many excellent eateries nearby.

Perfectly positioned where Ceredigion meets Pembrokeshire, the Castle makes a superb base for exploring both counties—from coastal walks and nature reserves to charming seaside villages and heritage trails.

Guests staying in the cottages and B&B enjoy exclusive access to the Castle grounds outside of visitor hours (10 am to 4 pm), except during evening events. You’re also invited to enjoy complimentary admission to special events such as open-air theatre and cultural performances held in the grounds during your stay
