The Arthouse Barn Studio is a carbon-neutral property set on 3 acres of wooden grounds and is part of a beautifully converted 18th-century granary barn in a quiet countryside setting near the north Pembrokeshire village of Eglwyswrw. The studio is full of character, with exposed original beams and sloping ceilings. It is decorated with a contemporary yet minimal rustic feel and is used as an art and design studio by the owner out of season.
Hemp, lime and clay paint give the walls an organic character, a wood-fired central heating system provides hot water and underfloor heating, and a wood burner makes this a cosy space, with upstairs rooms light, airy and spacious. The Studio was a granary barn and was flanked by the Carthouse (Cartws Bach) on one side, and the owner’s cottage on the other. The whole barn forms one side of the courtyard at the old farm of Bwlch Garregllwyd. It is very peaceful, with a relaxed, laid-back atmosphere.
Conveniently situated near the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park and Cardigan Bay, the main bus route is only 2 minute’s walk, and the coastal towns of Cardigan and Newport are only 7 minute’s drive, with Poppit Sands and Newport Beach just 10 mins away. The hosts are on site and happy to help and have a chat about places to explore and where to eat, etc.

The Arthouse Barn Studio sleeps 4 in 2 bedrooms: both with a king size and a single bed. An additional 2 guests can be accommodated at an extra charge, please enquire for information. The property is not suitable for children under 12.

OUTSIDE
The property is set in an old farm courtyard in 3 acres of grounds, with hens (eggs when available), vegetable gardens, woods, flower meadow and stream behind the barn, with a bridge over to the woods. Badminton set on the lawn. There is a BBQ for your use. A grassy track leads down past a newly planted forest garden to a green lane (ancient bridleway) which in turn will lead you to many footpaths and tracks to explore. Off road parking for 2 cars. The owner politely requests guests to respect the quiet nature of the property and grounds and would ask that no music is played outside and to keep noise to a minimum after 9 pm in the back garden and on the veranda as noise travels very easily to neighbouring properties.
