Skokholm Log Cabin is a romantic woodland hideaway, tucked in amongst the trees below the slopes of the Preseli Hills, just above Rosebush reservoir. Inside, find home comforts: cosy but not cramped – a peaceful retreat for two! Skokholm Cabin will suit those seeking a peaceful escape from everyday life. Immersed in nature, guests appreciate the privacy, dark skies, birdsong, wild animals and wildflowers.
The cabin is light and airy, with French windows opening out from the living area and the bedroom onto the wide south-facing veranda allowing the afternoon sun to stream into the cabin.
Ideal for walkers, you can hike for miles through the unspoilt scenery of the Preseli Hills with beautiful moorland slopes and far-reaching views over the surrounding countryside to the coast at Newport. If you fancy a more level walk, there is a 6 mile path round Llys y Fran reservoir. The Pembrokeshire Coast Path offers plenty of great options. Try trekking through the Preselis on horseback, or off-road cycling at Pantmaenog (half a mile away), a few miles away at Llys y Fran, there is a pump track and cycle hire.
Llys y Fran Lake offers extensive watersport hire, fishing, archery, a climbing wall and cafe with adventure play area. Wild swimmers will enjoy discovering Rosebush Quarry pool, the Blue Lagoon at Abereiddy and of course, so many other beach spots.
The famous traditional pub Tafarn Sinc, serving real ale and good food, is just 4 minutes by car or 20 minutes by foot if you are feeling energetic and would like to ‘soak-up’ the local atmosphere!
Centrally located, Skokholm Log Cabin is ideally placed for exploring Pembrokeshire: Newport, Fishguard and Cardigan are within 20 minutes and Tenby and St Davids within 45 minutes. The glorious Pembrokeshire Coast with its spectacular path and lovely beaches is within easy reach – Newport Sands is a 15-minute drive, Broad Haven is 35 minutes.
ACCOMMODATION
Skokholm Log Cabin sleeps 2 in a double bedroom. It is accessed via a few wooden steps and once inside the accommodation is all on one level, warm and cosy all year round.
Bedroom: double bed, chest of drawers, French windows to veranda
Shower room: electric shower, WC and wash hand basin Open plan living/dining/kitchen area with two sets of French windows opening out onto a veranda.
Living area: leather sofa, coffee table, digital TV with built in Freeview/ DVD/CD player. Dining table and 2 chairs
Kitchen area: electric ceramic hob cooker, microwave and fridge.
OUTSIDE
The veranda has a table and chairs and BBQ. There is a lovely view down to the reservoir and the cabin is set in pretty woodland. The site is fenced but cannot be considered dog-proof! Skokholm Cabin has its own gated parking space, 30 metres away, via a gravel path.
