Rhyd y Brown Cottage

Pre-arrival

• Approach from Carmarthen on to the A40 – At Pemblewin roundabout turn right onto the A478, signposted Cardigan- coming from Cardigan directly on A478 enter the village of Clynderwen and take the Maenclochog Road The turning for this is in Clynderwen near the public toilets/playing fields.
• There is a house with a pair of stone lions on the gate posts, turn into this road. Follow this road for about 4 miles – do not turn off until you come to a very steep hill – at the bottom, take the turning over a small bridge. You will then come to another stone bridge, go over this.
• There is a sign post directly in front of you showing – left to Gelli, right to Penffordd – take the right turn, go under the railway bridge and up to the T junction in the village of Penffordd. You will have the chapel opposite and the old school, turn left here and go down the hill about a mile, you will cross a small river bridge – on the right is a large sign “Private Road” also “Rhyd-Brown and Fynnongain” – turn into this road, come up the hill, there is a white gate – go past this and down into the back of the house. You will find the Stable on the yard on your left. The owners house is on the right
• A car is essential as there is no public transport.

Car parking and arrival

• There is plenty of level parking/reversing space in front of the cottage
• There is a large grassed area on a slight slope, room for a BBQ, table and chairs for your use
• There are two small steps into the cottage
• The nearest large town is Narbeth, 6 miles away. The Doctors’ surgery is here
• The local village of Clarbeston Road, with a pub is 3 miles
• Maenclochog with two shops and a Post Office is also 3 miles away
• Haverfordwest, our county town, is 11 miles distance. All facilities are here, including the Hospital A/E unit
• The nearest beach is Saundersfoot, which is about 10 miles

Inside

• The floor is level except for one step into the bathroom. There is one step into the shower
• There is very limited mobile telephone reception. The house telephone can be used for emergencies
• The cottage has a Gas Safety Certificate
• Dogs are welcome please let us know the number/s and breed/s –but there is no fenced area – the cottage is well away from the Private Road (access to farm). So you will have to keep an eye on your dog/s or keep them on the lead (this is optional as there are no restrictions on dogs). We only ask, please clean up after them. Facilities for disposal of any dog waste are on site
• Dustbins are to the right of the front door of The Stable
• We see to the removal of all household waste.
