Save on your next stay at The Barn!
Explore offers below and book your next holiday to West Wales.
Tucked away in the historic village of Drefach Felindre in Carmarthenshire, The Barn sits in 7 acres of gardens, fields and woodland bounded by two trout streams, creating a haven for wildlife and adventurous children alike.
The accommodation is spacious and comfortable with a blend of modern and original features. When you’re not enjoying the gardens and grounds, relax in the galleried living area with its cosy wood burner or enjoy family meals in the large bright kitchen/diner.
Once the heart of the Welsh woollen industry, the heritage-rich village is home to the National Wool Museum which is just a short stroll from your door. Nearby, you will find the local park and playground, a village pub, a fish-and-chip shop, a convenience store and post office.
For outdoor enthusiasts the surrounding area is just waiting to be explored. Meandering trails and quiet country lanes beckon walkers, cyclists, and horse riders, while birdwatchers and fishermen will find plenty to interest them. River canoe at Llandysul and Cilgerran or venture to the Cardigan Bay coastline for unspoiled sandy beaches, breathtaking cliff walks, sea sports, dolphin watching and seaside villages.
The dramatic Preseli Hills – source of the legendary Stonehenge bluestones – along with Pembrokeshire National Park and the wild, dark-sky Llanllwni Mountain, are all within easy reach.
If you prefer staying closer to home, The Barn can offer a variety of experiences. Meet Molly, the senior Harris Hawk, who’s always ready for a photo-op and try your hand at tracking her flight. Fly a drone, pan for gold, fish for trout or practice your golf swing, clubs and balls provided.
Whether you’re looking for adventure or seeking a peaceful retreat, The Barn is the perfect escape to connect with nature, history and a touch of magic.

OUTSIDE
At the rear of The Barn, an orchard leads down to a stream. In the summer, youngsters have great fun paddling around and building dams. Early risers might see fox cubs playing in the grass, or pheasants looking for breakfast. For a while, the fishpond was empty – an otter took the koi carp to feed her family and a heron visited regularly until seen off by one of our hawks. A raised patio overlooking the orchard catches the afternoon and evening sun. It’s a great place to enjoy a drink or barbecue as the day ends and the tawny owls and bats start the night shift. There is off-road parking for 3 cars.
