The Bakery is a converted, characterful, stone-built barn surrounded by peaceful countryside in a lovely rural setting.

This delightful, cosy cottage was once the bakery for the neighbouring property, Felin Carrog, a beautiful 19th-century former corn mill. Ideally located to explore the many attractions in Ceredigion, it’s just 7 miles from the University town of Aberystwyth, a Victorian seaside resort with a promenade and pier, and 8 miles from the beautiful harbour town of Aberaeron with its colourful Georgian houses.

Once a busy fishing port, Aberaeron is now one of Ceredigion’s best-loved holiday resorts with 2 pebble beaches and a picturesque harbour. You can follow the coast south to the sandy beaches at New Quay and enjoy boat trips and dolphin watching. For walkers, the Ceredigion Coast Path is a joy, following the spectacular Cardigan Bay coastline with its stunning scenery between picturesque villages.

The nearest village of Llanrhystud offers a post office and shop, two dog-friendly pubs/restaurants, a church and a petrol station with a small supermarket. About 2 miles away.

The Bakery sleeps 3 in 2 bedrooms: 1 double and 1 single. The accommodation is all on one floor so it may suit guests who prefer to avoid stairs.

Bedroom 1: double bed, individually controlled reading lights above the bed, bedside tables, wardrobe and chest of drawers. This dual aspect room has vaulted ceiling, skylight and garden views

Bedroom 2: single bed, over bed reading light, tallboy chest of drawers and vaulted ceiling

Bathroom: bath, separate shower cubicle, WC, wash hand basin, heated towel rail and vaulted ceiling

Kitchen area: induction hob, electric oven, microwave, fridge freezer, dishwasher and washer/dryer

Living/dining area: 3-seater sofa, 43″ Freesat Smart TV, log burner, table and chairs to seat three, vaulted ceiling, skylight, garden views and stable door to garden. There are books and games for you to enjoy.

OUTSIDE

The large enclosed rear garden benefits from the sun in the afternoon and evening. There is a furnished patio with charcoal BBQ. A rotary clothes line is also available. Steps lead to the level lawn and private off road parking for 2 cars.

The Bakery is a converted stone barn, providing guest accommodation on a ‘Self Catering’ basis. The Bakery is part of Felin Carrog, a 19th century former corn mill, cottage and barns. The nature of the building dictates some accessibility constraints and the following statement will provide more details. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you require further details.
Pre-Arrival

We are in a rural location and the use of a car is strongly recommended for our guests
The nearest train station is at Aberystwyth approximately 7 miles distant
Taxis can be found at the station but require booking for outward journeys from The Bakery
Due to the nature of the building we advise that guests with mobility or visual impairments are accompanied during their stay

Arrival & Car Parking Facilities

There is a house name sign at the entrance to the drive, on the post
The parking area is located at the front of the garden on a flat gravel surface
To reach the cottage from the parking area there are four steps down onto the patio area, one step up, then one step down into the cottage
There is a sensor light by the front door for night

Audible smoke detectors are located in the cottage
