Seaborne House

Additional Information 

• There is a good, if irregular, train service from London Paddington direct to Fishguard which takes approximately 5 hours. There are good bus, taxi and road links to Carmarthen, Cardiff, Bristol and beyond. Traffic can be heavy on the M4 and M48, A48 at peak times so it can be easier to leave London on a Friday morning to miss this (if possible). We normally count on the car journey times being 2 hours from Cardiff.
• There is high-speed optic fibre Wifi available throughout the house with TP link range extenders to ensure full coverage. There is good mobile phone network coverage, especially at the rear and top of the house. Mobile phone signal can be patchy, depending on your provider. Wifi provided can support mobile wifi use if you have this function downloaded
• If you need to work whilst on holiday, there’s a small laptop desk with wireless printer for your convenience. • Working from home: although we offer Wi-Fi and fibre broadband, this is a residential address so facilities for “working from home” are not guaranteed. Our Wi-Fi is supplied by a third-party and we do not always have 100% control over its functioning. If you need guaranteed Wi-Fi access and have lots of Zoom calls and meetings during your stay, you should ensure that you plan for alternative office rental during the day. Seaborne House is designed to be a holiday accommodation, not an office.  

Arrival and Car Parking

• Parking outside Seaborne: There’s normally a spot just outside the walls of the Chapel (which is still in use – please do not block the gate). If you are unloading the car, you can pull up outside the front door of Seaborne for up to 20 minutes without penalty, but it is a narrow road, and you may block those who can’t get through.
• Parking a little further away: There can be spots available at the top of Parrog Road without yellow lines. We provide a complimentary parking permit for the Long Street carpark, and the Traeth Mawr (big Newport Sands) beach car park. These are kept on the noticeboard in the house when not in use
• Please put it back where you found them when not in use. If lost, you will be charged for their replacement. • Please don’t park on double yellow lines, and don’t forget if you park on Market Street. During the summer months especially, the traffic wardens are very efficient. Nothing ruins your holiday like a parking ticket!
• Check-in: As we operate a no-contact check-in we need to take some additional details from you to verify your identity for our records, and to make provision for any potential additional costs of your booking. This information also helps us to get the property ready for any special requirements you may have – so please make sure you have noted all relevant details so we can make your stay go smoothly
• We would appreciate the return of your form as soon as possible so we can send you your access and check-in details in good time before your arrival, or up to 3 days beforehand. (This will arrive by email and will also contain lots of advance information about our property and local amenities, plus your key code and directions to the property. It’s a good idea to print this out for easy reference.)
• Self-verification and damages: You’ll notice while filling in our form that when it comes to verifying your identity and covering any damages, you have 2 options: either you can self-verify through our preferred insurance partner Superhog*, or you can supply us with your ID (passport or driver’s licence) and pay a Refundable Damages Deposit (RDD) up front
• Please note: You will not be sent access details to our property until we have received both your completed Booking Form and you have self-verified and/or paid your RDD. This forms part of our terms and conditions which you will have agreed during the initial booking process with our agent.

Dogs

• £45 per dog per stay. If the stay is less than 7 nights we may reduce the price at our discretion based on the size and breed of the dog
• Up to 3 well-behaved pets are allowed (over the age of 1 year, house-trained) but not allowed upstairs or on the furniture. Please bring your own pet travel boxes or beds and keep pets in the kitchen, dining area, or in the wet-room overnight.

Hot tub

• The hot tub is kept at 38.5 deg C and is serviced in between each booking so that it is always filled, warm and clean, ready to use. Use of the hot tub is optional and must be booked separately, with extra charges which are not yet included on your total amount, and would depend on the time of year you opt to use it.

Eco friendly features

• Sheeps wool insulation, Glapor limecrete floor insulation, wood-wool boards, quadruple-glazed roof lights, lime plaster all used in renovations, up to date boiler installed, solar panels for hot water on roof, low U-value construction During the winter months only (and not school holiday time) we can shut the attic floor off, providing a small group of 4 adults and 2 children, or 2 adults and 4 children can stay cosy and for a smaller rental cost. You would still have exclusive access to the house. We use the house often ourselves and have been regular visitors with our 4 boys to Newport, having holidayed here for the past 30 years. We are always available 24/7 on the end of a mobile phone for emergencies, or during office hours for general enquiries, help or explanations. We pride ourselves on our customer service and aim to please!.  

Security Bond information/ • Please pre-authorise the £500 security deposit directly with the owner by providing your card details to pre-authorise this payment. If there’s no damage to the property they will then release the funds within 7 days after your check-out date.
