Mill Cottage is part of Felin Carrog, a beautiful 19th-century former corn mill. This characterful, cosy cottage is in a lovely rural setting surrounded by peaceful countryside. Ideally located to explore the many attractions in Ceredigion, it’s just 7 miles from the University town of Aberystwyth, a Victorian seaside resort with a promenade and pier, and 8 miles from the beautiful harbour town of Aberaeron with its colourful Georgian houses.

Aberystwyth has many amenities, from a wonderful Arts Centre to the National Library. It has everything you would expect from a traditional seaside town – amusements, entertainment, candy floss and fish and chips. There are many bars, cafes and restaurants as well as independent and high st shops. you can leisurely walk around town or take the train up Constitution Hill and admire the spectacular view.

Once a busy fishing port, Aberaeron is now one of Ceredigion’s best-loved holiday resorts with fabulous cafes and restaurants and a picturesque harbour. You can follow the coast south to the sandy beaches at New Quay and enjoy boat trips and dolphin watching.

For walkers, the Ceredigion Coast Path is a joy, following the spectacular Cardigan Bay coastline with its stunning scenery between picture-perfect villages. The nearest village of Llanrhystud offers a post office and shop, two dog-friendly pubs/restaurants, a pub, a church and a petrol station with a small supermarket.

Enclosed courtyard garden with garden furniture and charcoal BBQ, rotary clothesline. Guests have use of the enclosed orchard area to exercise dogs. Driveway parking for 2 cars.

Mill Cottage is a stone cottage, part of Felin Carrog a 19th century former corn mill, providing guest accommodation on a ‘Self Catering’ basis. The nature of the building dictates some accessibility constraints and the following statement will provide more details. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you require further details.
Pre-Arrival

We are in a rural location and the use of a car is strongly recommended
The nearest train station is at Aberystwyth approximately 7 miles distant
Taxis can be found at the station but require booking for outward journeys from Mill Cottage
Due to the nature of the building we advise that guests with mobility or visual impairments are accompanied during their stay

Arrival & car parking

There is a house name sign at the entrance to the drive, and on the wooden gate of Mill Cottage
The parking area is located at the front of the property
To reach the cottage from the parking area there is a step up into the courtyard garden and two further steps into the house
There is a sensor light by the front door for night

Main entrance

There are two doors into the cottage 74cm wide
Audible smoke detectors are located in the cottage
Complimentary internet access is available in the cottage

Living accommodation

There is a corner sofa and Freesat television
The dining table can cater for 5 people
There is a log burner for the winter months

From this room there is access to the kitchen on the same level and the bedrooms and bathroom via the stairs
