Henllys Lodge near Llandovery is a superb eco-friendly detached luxury cottage in a rural location with views of the Welsh hills of the Upper Twyi Valley. This former lodge house has been rebuilt and completely renovated to a very high standard as an eco-friendly and allergy-friendly property – a comfortable and relaxing place to stay.

Carmarthenshire has fantastic landscapes and lots to see and do and is known as ‘the Garden of Wales’. There are gardens and nature parks, castles, houses, forests and hills to look at and explore, either on foot, by bike or car. The Upper Twyi Valley is a little-known area of tranquillity and beautiful scenery. Do come and experience it for yourself!

Llandovery, only 2 miles away, is a traditional Welsh market town with a historical heritage dating back to Roman times. Llandeilo is only twenty minutes away and offers some upmarket shops and restaurants also. Situated on the western edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park with many outdoor pursuits available in the area.

The Lodge has achieved a 5 star rating from Visit Wales and has a GOLD Green Tourism award and also ‘Walkers Welcome’ and ‘Cyclists Welcome’ award. Heating and hot water are provided through ground source heat pumps. The house is insulated with sheep’s wool.

Kitchen/dining area: Rangemaster cooker with 2 ovens and grill, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave, washing machine, condenser dryer, dining table and chairs for 8
WC: toilet, hand basin

OUTSIDE

Access from kitchen to slate patio with garden furniture and Weber BBQ. Flower beds planted with native plants flowering at different times of the year and lawn leading down to a pond, teeming with wildlife including fish, frogs, newts, water lilies, etc. Fill up the bird feeder to watch all sorts of birds, including nuthatches and woodpeckers. Red kites and buzzards soar overhead. Off-road parking for 3 cars adjacent to the property and locked shed to accommodate bicycles.
