Cartws Bach is a beautifully converted 18th-century cart house in a quiet countryside setting near the north Pembrokeshire village of Eglwyswrw. Pembrokeshire Coast National Park and Ceredigion Coast Path are nearby making this a great base for families and walkers to explore the area.
Carbon neutral with eco electricity, the cottage has been sympathetically restored to conservation standards and has a simple yet elegant feel. Hemp, lime and clay paint give the walls an organic character, while wooden and slate floors and exposed beams add to the atmosphere. The cottage is south-facing and looks out into its own little garden. It is attached to The Arthouse Barn Studio which is also available to let. The cottage owners live on-site and are available for advice and assistance whilst always respecting your privacy. It is very peaceful with a relaxed, laid-back atmosphere, the perfect quiet retreat space.
Cartws Bach has 3 acres of woodland, stream and forest garden to enjoy and there are amazing walks on footpaths and a green lane direct from the cottage through woods and countryside. The main bus route is only 2 minutes’ walk providing easy access to the coastal towns of Pembrokeshire and Cardigan Bay.
The delightful town of Newport is only 7 minute’s drive away and has a fantastic sandy beach (Traeth Mawr) and great places to eat out. Historic Cardigan is close by and here you will find supermarkets, independent shops, cafés, restaurants, galleries and a restored castle. The family-friendly beach at Poppit Sands is just 10 minutes away.
Have a day out to the Iron Age settlement at Castell Henllys (2 miles), The Shire Horse Centre, (1 mile), or try the Cilgerran Gorge walk just 4 miles away, you may see otters if you’re lucky.
