Pre arrival

• In common with the rest of Pembrokeshire, telephone reception can be variable, but it is usually possible from inside the property. There is a public payphone in the centre of the village. The village has a frequent bus service and railways stations are at Aberystwyth, Haverfordwest and Fishguard. Up-to-date details about individual service providers can be given on request.

Arrival and car parking

• Aelwyd Artur has the benefit of a tarmacadam drive with plenty of parking.
• Motorised wheelchairs, etc, can be parked under a carport directly outside this door.

Inside

• Once inside, Aelwyd Artur is a level single-storey building, with 29-30 inch wide doorways. However, each door has a small rise over a plank where carpet rails would normally be positioned (1/4 inch high, 4 inches wide). Internal doors are dark wood, offering good colour contrast, with lever-type handles.
• The TV has a remote control. Lounge chair and sofa have arms; the dining chairs do not. A carver chair could be moved to provide arms on a chair at the table. There are trays. There are rugs in the property, which can be removed on request. Kitchen and washbasin taps are old-fashioned cross lever type and the work surface is at 3 foot high.
• The shower room has an almost flat-access, gated and curtained shower with grab rails. Maximum clear floor space in the room is 26 inches x 6 feet. In the bedrooms, the floor width between bed & wall at the widest side of the double bed is 4 feet. The space between the twin beds is approx 2 feet, but they can be moved further to create a little more room, if required.

Outside

• The external kitchen door is 29 inches wide with a 1-inch high rubber ridge at ground level, set into a 4-inch wide bar
• The external living room door, which allows for straight entry into the main room, is 32 inches wide with a 5 inch- high step over.
• Note: there is no external fencing around the property where it borders the road.
