Penrhipyn Cottage is a delightful and tranquil retreat situated in the idyllic hamlet of Gwernogle, in the heart of the Cothi valley in Brechfa Forest. Sleeping 6 people, this 19th century former blacksmith's shop is built of river stone and is attractively furnished with many original features throughout including exposed oak beams, stone walls and wooden flooring.

The cottage is ideally situated as a base for those wanting to explore the footpaths and mountain bike trails of Brechfa Forest, the renowned Gorlach trails runs being only 3 miles away. The National Botanic Garden and Aberglasney House and Gardens are within easy reach. The excellent Community Shop in Brechfa is 3 miles away.

With a number of restaurants and pubs locally there are plenty of opportunities to sample the local produce, including Welsh Black beef and lamb, cockles from Carmarthen Bay and salmon and sea trout from the Tywi River. In the vicinity there are many places to visit including castles, the National Botanic Gardens of Wales, Oakwood Theme Park and the Gwili Steam Railway. This is a perfect holiday spot for families or couples in the heart of picturesque West Wales.

We have Visit Wales accreditation for Walkers and Cyclists due to the excellent facilities available. Private parking available for 3 cars leading to private access to the cottage.
