Where in Wales is Newport, Pembrokeshire?

Newport is a small town on the northern coast of the Pembrokeshire peninsula in West Wales. It’s not to be confused with the city of the same name in South-East Wales. Newport in Pembrokeshire is around a two-and-a-half-hour drive from Cardiff and just over five hours from London.

What is Newport Famous for?

One of the things that makes Newport so great is that it’s somewhat of a hidden gem compared to more well-known Pembrokeshire locations like Tenby.

Much like Tenby, one of Newport’s best features is its idyllic coastline. With beautiful beaches and the Pembrokeshire Coast Path weaving through the cliffs, this spot is a walker’s paradise.

Beyond the landscape, Newport has plenty of history. Once an important port and administrative centre, the region is filled with ancient architecture, relics and ruins.
