“This lovely property is set in such peaceful surroundings where you can sit outside and just hear the birds singing all day. The barn is very comfortable, spacious and tastefully furnished. The situation is convenient for Cardigan, Fishguard where Lower Fishguard is very pretty, the beautiful Newport Beach is a short drive away and further afield is the amazing Poppit Sands. These are just a few of the places well worth visiting in the area. The owners of the barn were so friendly and available when needed.”

“We had a fantastic stay at pedpedwast lower barn. It was nice to be just a little out of Newport where we had a lovely view over the fields and with no other guests in the other properties when we stayed so it was really quiet. We would definitely consider going back and also heading back with a bigger group staying in the adjacent properties too.
The barn was done up beautifully and everything was of a very high standard.
There were lots of great guides in the house too and we explored the local area lots.

Lovely artwork on the walls too”

“Lower barn is a beautifully restored barn which has been tastefully furnished. Great beds, bath and shower. Super views from the lounge to the fields outside. We had a peaceful week and saw red kites flying overhead. It's easy to get to the beach or get other places of interest.”

“An excellent property. Well equipped and furnished to a good standard. The main strength of the property is the peaceful setting. Beautiful views and an excellent base for exploring Ceredigion and North Pembrokeshire. A great place for families and those who want to relax. I would recommend walks at Dinas Head, Tresaith to Aberporth, St Davids peninsula and the coast near Mwnt. For family beaches, Mwnt, Aberporth, Tresaith and Newquay all hit the spot. Finally, don’t miss the sunset over Newport Bay from the boat club at Parrog. Stunning!”

“It was our first visit to Pembrokeshire and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Penpedwast Lower Barn, the cottage is a modern spacious barn conversion in a quiet secluded position with a fabulous outlook from the French doors yet only 10 minutes from Newport and the coast. We woke up every morning to pheasants, rabbits, and squirrels on the lawn which was lovely. we didn't meet the owners but their communication was excellent.”

“My family and I had a wonderful time in the Penpedwast Lower Barn. The barn is fitted out to a very high standard.
The local area is outstanding, with fabulous views of the Preseli Hills, plenty of good walks along the coast and quiet beaches.
We all regularly enjoyed walking from the barn though the woods behind the barn and past the Castell Henllys Iron Age hill fort.
A visit to a beer festival, with a Ska band at the nearby Blue Stone Brewery was a highlight.”

“The Lower Barn is a really attractive and peaceful yet modernly equipped place to holiday. The view from the sitting room is of a lovely green valley and woodland walks are on the doorstep. Also just ten minutes' walk away at the end of the farm track is the excellent Castell Henllys reconstructed Iron Age settlement which is well worth a visit.
Other attractions are a drive away: do not overlook Newport, which has many more provision shops, cafes and souvenir shops than it appears when driving through. There is also a well stocked grocery store hidden in the petrol station 5 minutes' drive up the road. There are many places nearby to get onto attractive bays and the bracing Pembrokeshire Coastal Path. There are also several good pubs and restaurants but be warned: you need to book at least a day ahead in the Summer season!
A note to those who are not so mobile: this house is almost all on one level - with just two steps down to the sitting part of the living area and a short slope up to the front door.
Thank you to the Watkins for a lovely stay!”

“The property is exactly as shown in the photographs (but with the welcome addition of an armchair in the sitting room). It was extremely well presented and immaculately clean throughout. All of the furniture was very comfortable and the beds beautifully made up with crisp white bed linen. We only cooked a few simple meals at the barn but the kitchen was equipped with everything we needed. It was nice to be provided with enough toilet rolls and dish washer tablets to last the week. The barn is in the middle of the owner's large farm, down a fairly long track and surrounded by beautiful rolling hills and woodland. Very peaceful and we were fortunate enough with the weather to eat all our evening meals outside in the sunshine watching the wildlife. You can take a walk in the woods from the barn, and Castell Henllys (Iron Age Fort) is just a short walk away. Newport is a brief ten minutes drive away, where there are plenty of places to eat, a few shops and a superb sandy beach. Penpedwast is a lovely property in a gorgeous location and we thoroughly recommend it. We didn't meet the owner, but all communication was excellent too.”

“It is the first time we have visited Pembroke and found the cottage excellent and the area picturesque. We brought our 5 and 8 year old grandchildren, they thoroughly enjoyed the cottage especially with the wildlife, rabbits on the grass and a pair of juvenile foxes who regularly meandered down the driveway. We also enjoyed the easy access to walks through the woods adjacent to the cottage, the location and views are excellent especially if you want peace and quiet for relaxing, having said that I would leave the grandchildren behind if you want the latter.”

“We had the most amazing time staying at Penpedwast Lower Barn. The barn was very comfortable for a family of four and our two weeks stay went too fast! Wished we could have stayed another week. The location on the farm is beautiful and peaceful but still with easy access to main routes to get you to wherever you want to go to around Pembrokeshire. Look forward to returning. Newport Sands is a 10 minute drive away and has views like paradise from golf club. Dinner and drinks there in evening is an absolute must.”

“We had a fantastic week at Lower Barn. Loads of space to relax in and set in an absolutely stunning location. It was so peaceful and the lack of light pollution was intense! The owners were really friendly and helpful and the barn is gorgeous. The local beaches are fantastic - good for body boarding and sandcastles and dam building. Newport - a 10 minute drive down the road - is a friendly village with lovely pubs, restaurants and quirky shops / art galleries. Cardigan has an amazing cinema and is of a similar bent. Ancient history, pony trekking, mountain springs, surfing, kite flying and the Bluestone Brewery... Fab.”

“The owners are very friendly helpful people. The cottage is lovely, very clean , comfortable and relaxing. and is set in the most beautiful surroundings. The wildlife is amazing The ancient forest is pretty much next door and the walks through it are stunning as is the birdsong. We actually looked forward to waking up at 4:30 AM to the most wonderful dawn chorus. There are many attractions within easy reach, the coastal walks, scenery and wildlife are stunning. A trip to Skomer island is a must. In May the island is covered with wild flower colour and thousands of seabirds including the extremely endearing Puffin. Well worth visit. We didn't want to leave.”

“Penpedwast is a superbly finished and very modern stone building conversion. The view from the lounge room is stunning and it is light, spacious and well laid out across all the living areas. We really enjoyed the log burner which adds significantly to the warmth and cosy feel of the property. Although we visited in Easter it would be great year round. The bathroom and en suite are lovely and would provide for even a large group of adults. The furniture and general finish is very high indeed and it generally has a very safe, secure feeling for its lovely remote location. My wife, young children and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay.”
