Latchygors Cottage

Latchygors Cottage, a peaceful haven for two in a pretty setting overlooking a trout lake, is a dog-friendly cottage set on our secluded 25 acre smallholding near the Pembrokeshire/Carmarthenshire border.

1 mile from the village of Llanfallteg and about ¼ mile from the nearest public road, traffic noise is not a problem here. The path around the lake is perfect for a stroll with the dog, stop a while and watch the wild ducks and geese. Fishing is included in the weekly tariff.

The cottage’s central location is ideal for touring the area with its beaches, castles, gardens and Coast Path, or you can simply relax and enjoy being away from it all. The pretty market town of Narberth, with a great selection of independent shops and places to eat, is 20 minutes away and just under half an hour away on the coast, you will find the famous Dylan Thomas boathouse at Laugharne.  

Here, we try to be as eco-friendly as we can. Photovoltaic panels generate electricity, water comes from our own well, heating and hot water from our bio-mass boiler. We produce as much of our own fruit and vegetables as we can (including cider from the apples!) and we have eggs which visitors can purchase according to availability.

ACCOMMODATION
Latchygors Cottage sleeps 2 in a twin bedroom. All accommodation is on one level. As a converted cowshed attached to a barn and stable, the original beams are exposed, giving the cottage a light and airy feeling. 

Bedroom: twin beds, built-in wardrobe, plenty of drawer space 
Bathroom: bath with shower over, wash basin, toilet, heated towel rail
Lounge: 2-seater sofa, easy chair, wood burning stove, Smart TV, DVD player, bookcase with reading material and lots of tourist information. The window offers a view of the lake 
Kitchen: fridge with small freezer, microwave, washer/dryer, dishwasher and electric cooker with fan oven

OUTSIDE
The cottage is situated in the farm yard and cars can be parked close to the door with no steps to negotiate. Fenced area with picnic table and BBQ to the rear of the cottage and a bench set in the sun at the front. Round the lake, there are benches to sit and enjoy the view and wildlife.
