Hafan is a detached converted stone barn with outstanding coastal and estuary views directly across to the historic castle at Laugharne and Dylan Thomas's boathouse. It is one of two barns at Pentowyn, in a beautiful rural setting on the Taf estuary in Carmarthenshire.
Originally a priory farm, Pentowyn now consists of the owner’s farmhouse, the holiday barns and 5 acres of grazing land. The Wales Coastal Path passes behind the farm and there are many walks from the doorstep – including one to the saltmarsh with its abundance of wildlife.
The long sandy beach at Llansteffan is a 5-minute drive. The village of Llansteffan has a shop/post office, a beach café and two family-friendly pubs both serving tasty meals. Along with two tennis courts, there are also two play areas for children. The nearby bustling town of Carmarthen offers the usual range of facilities including a leisure centre and multi-screen cinema.
Hafan is the perfect base for various activities including walking, tennis, bird watching, sea fishing, cycling and golf. The National Botanical Garden of Wales, Aberglasney Gardens and several castles are a short drive away
Hafan sleeps 2 people in one bedroom in this single-storey holiday home. The carpeted bedroom has a double bed and ample cupboard and wardrobe space. The adjacent bathroom has a shower over the bath, washbasin and toilet.
The entrance to Hafan is a small tiled conservatory with wooden table and chairs, washing machine and tumble dryer. Two glazed doors lead into a large open plan lounge/dining/kitchen area with a high ceiling. The lounge floor is wood-effect with one step leading into the dining and kitchen area. The lounge has a comfortable sofa and armchair and pine furniture. There is an LCD TV (with Freeview), DVD player and a portable CD/ radio/tape player. The kitchen is fully equipped with electric oven/hob, microwave, dishwasher and large fridge/freezer.
There is a lawned area with a garden bench. There are stunning views across to Laugharne where you can watch wonderful sunsets. A washing line and BBQ are available. There is plenty of parking.
