“This is a very comfortable cottage in a great location. We loved being able to wander almost straight onto the beach. Courtyard garden is bigger than it looks in the photos and a definite suntrap. Bathrooms are modern with good showers and plenty of hot water. The view of the beach from the main bedroom is enough to make you lie in bed a lot longer ! Beds were comfy, Kitchen had everything we needed and the WiFi was good. We would definitely recommend this cottage.”

“Another great holiday, always sad to go. We'll be back next year!”

The Minterns, August 2016

“58 bird species recorded this year - same as 2003. Plenty of choughs again. Wintering teal and widgeon in the estuary (plus a goldeneye). Sandwich terns diving in the bay. Weather was good too. And the cottage (of course!)”

Andrew and Virginia, June 2014

“The cottage was well up to our expectations and we have enjoyed beautiful views along with some glorious weather. Plenty of space for our 3 generations - the children had a great time. Thanks for the great holiday!”

The Hollman Family, July 2013

“We cannot remember if this is our 3rd or 4th (maybe 5th!) visit to Glandwr, although we have been coming to Newport regularly since about 1965. As ever, we have had a lovely holiday here - Newport retains its special magical hold over us - we will definitely return again and again. Everything in the cottage is as good as ever. Thank you.”

“I really enjoyed staying at Glandwr. We all had a great Easter and an exciting Easter hunt for our chocolate eggs. the crabbing was fab as we caught 5 big ones. We went on a bike ride to Newport Sands (the beach the other side of the river) and also went to the Iron Age place (Henllys) where we did a great fire because the lady told us a great way to make big flames.”

Rachel, April 2012

“A truly lovely family cottage. Perfect for our gang of kids. We even managed to hide 24 large Easter eggs downstairs on Easter morning! I've fallen in love with the area. We walked the coast path. Even the kids said the scenery was fantastic! The kids disappeared after breakfast to explore the beach each morning. Superb...We would love to come here again!”

“Almost a week was really enough to convince me that Wales is really THE place to be, especially Newport !! Nice walks, swims, visits and barbecues in such a peaceful place. I don't want to go back home.... Many, many thanks.”

“What a week! lovely cottage, lovely setting, we are smitten! Weather has been good - one day of showers - can't be bad! I have two lovely golden children, Jake looks like a beach bum! Thank you for the opportunity to experience a lovely part of Wales”

The Rowsons, August 2009

“Weather was great all week and have enjoyed our stay. The stay at Glandwr has been very relaxing! Trips have been made to Castell Henllys, Carn Ingli, Cenarth, Oakwood theme park, Fishguard, Tenby, Pentre Ifan and Pembroke Castle which were all very interesting and enjoyable walks from Glandwr! Thanks”

The Williams family, June 2008

“This is a lovely cottage - well furnished and generously equipped, very comfortable. We chose it for its perfect location on the Parrog and therefore easy access to walking. The weather has been brilliant - dry and sunny so it's been a lovely short stay. Hopefully we'll come back again one summer for a longer stay and full holiday. Thank you!”

Ann & Lester, April 2007

“Thank you for our lovely stay by the sea. There is something very special about 'your cottage' where we had a wonderful few days”

Joyce and Jane, June 2006

“We've had a brilliant holiday. Great views, great cottage. Being so close to the beach is just perfect for the children. Enjoyed just watching the tide come in, go out, come in... Very relaxing! We saw dolphins, puffins, lots of crabs and the rock pools are brilliant.”

Seers and Soothills families, July 2005

“What a serendipitous three days. The cottage is so lovely and comfortable and the setting is magnificent. If ever we should pass this way again..... Enjoyed the books and original art!”
