This humble early 19th-century cottage was built on common land, overnight. Known as a Ty Un Nos (one night house), it is now Grade II listed. With a place in the history of Mynydd Preseli (‘munn-ith press-elly’ – the Preseli Mountains), this simple, limewashed authentic Grade II-listed 200 year old cottage was known as a Ty Un Nos (one night house) – erected overnight, on common land. Legend has it that as long as there was smoke coming from the chimney by sunrise then the occupier could lay claim to some land! Lying under the gaze of the Frenni Fawr (395 m) and nestling into the sunny hillside of the Frenni Fach, Fron Haul is surrounded by the light, space and beauty of the Preseli Hills.

Carefully chosen furnishings combine with original features and modern comforts to complement the characterful cottage. Without TV or WiFi Fron Haul’s guests can enjoy walking, painting, or curling up in front of the cosy inglenook fireplace to read, play board games or simply… stop. Outside, the tranquility of the separate garden studio offers a space for keen artists to make the most of the unique Preseli light. Explore 4 acres of natural heathland or sit and admire the open landscape. In the sunny garden arbour overlooking a small wildlife pool, birdsong will surround you, sunsets will delight you, and the closeness of the stars will amaze you.

Other areas offer a hammock to swing in, a fire basket to light and sit by and seating from which you can watch Red Kites and buzzards wheeling overhead. The Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, Wales Coast Footpath, and Llys-y-Fran Country Park are close-by. Scenic coastal villages, dramatic scenery and ancient sites offer walkers, cyclists, artists and photograpers an enjoyable mix of experiences and activities. The 47 Celtic Cycle Trail passes by. Cardigan, Narberth and Newport have good shope pubs, restaurants and a choice of eateries.
