“A comfortable, cosy cottage with everything we needed for our stay. I loved nestling around the wood burning stove on those cold damp evenings. And it was a treat to be off grid -- no television, no WiFi meant we got a bit of a tech detox as well. It's just a pity the weather wasn't warm or dry enough for us to make use of the area by the pond or the garden room. It's a lovely spot. Perhaps another time...”

“Our second visit, and every bit as enjoyable as the first. The cottage is small but has everything needed for a couple. Its historic and artistic connections are fascinating and it is wonderfully situated with a peaceful garden and views over open country. It is absolutely idyllic, an ideal place to unwind. If you can tear yourself away there is good walking and (hilly) cycling nearby.”

“fabulous cottage and lovely location. We have had a great week exploring Pembrokeshire -- with brilliant weather”

Mark & Sharon - July 2022

“Fron Haul was such an amazing find and truly one of the best cottages we have stayed in. Excellent location for the Preseli Hills and the drive to the amazing Pembrokeshire Coast is not too far.

The attention to detail in the cottage is amazing. We loved all the detailed information on the belongings in the cottage, having the use of OS maps and the information/books about the local area. I would highly recommend a trip to the Dyffryn Arms in Pontfaen.”

Swam in the blue lagoon all the wild and beautiful coastal walks. One week was not long enough to take it all in. Maybe next time !!!!!”

“The cottage and setting was even more lovely than we thought. Secluded, peaceful, thoughtfully renovated, lovely natural garden. Low beams in the bedroom mezzanine is the only thing that might be a problem for some.”

“We found the cottage to be as described, but also interesting in its history and books and art objects around the place. The studio/summerhouse was lovely to sit in in the evenings with fir pit outside.

In fact the whole place charmed us.”

“We had a very enjoyable stay. The cottage was extremely well equipped, best we’ve ever stayed in. Really enjoyed all the books, better selection than our local library. Enjoyed lying in the hammock, eating outside and just sitting in different areas of the garden. Fron Haul is a very interesting place to stay in a beautiful location.”

“We had a fabulous time at Fron Haul. The cottage is beautifully decorated and equipped and really feels like a home away from home - with the enormous benefit of being so wonderfully removed from the usual busyness of city-life. We loved seeing the red kites over the house, sitting on the various levels around the garden, and snuggling down on wet days in the cottage. The owner is super friendly and helpful and really made us feel so welcome - by email and through the various treats left for us on arrival. We had had to delay our visit by a year due to the pandemic and the owner made this so easy to do (we are very grateful). Finally getting away from it all this September was just what we needed - a real chance to slow down, pursue our creative hobbies (writing/drawing) in the garden and in the studio and enjoy the surrounding countryside and other adventures!”

“The cottage, studio and gardens are incredibly beautiful, really well maintained and equipped, with such excellent attention to detail across the board. We've sayed in lots of other cottages over the last 10 years but Fron Haul is by far the best equipped and most sympathetically restored cottage, with the most wonderful outdoor spaces! We really loved the wildness of the gardens and the biodiversity that this encourages - there are so many animals that inhabit the space, which really made it a very special place to sit and think!”

“The property was much more than we expected! Yes the description was fully met but it is so difficult to reflect how peaceful and refreshing this cottage was and in turn a real tonic to our well-being.

Full review provided in the cottage journal which we have no issues with it being shared.

A perfect week in a perfect location!”

“Fron Haul is a real gem in an idyllic setting! We had everything we needed for a comfortable stay, including plentiful notes, books and guides supplied by the owner - we loved reading about its history. The region is ideal for exploring on foot and by bike (it's on the Celtic Cycle Trail) as long as you can manage the hills. Beautiful scenery, and we were very lucky with the weather.”

“Excellent. A wonderful place restored with sensitivity and flair. We enjoyed the wonderful views and cosy seclusion of the gardens”

Ed, May 2021

“Had a wonderful break at Fron Haul. The cottage was perfect & had all that we needed. Outside was a lovely space to sit, relax, eat breakfast, and generally enjoy the scenery & peace. Loved hearing a cuckoo, spotted a newt in the pond, & watched wheeling Red Kites. We visited a few beaches & came back, cooked, & sat in front of the woodburner. We both agreed that we'd love to stay again!”

“Fron Haul has been carefully restored and was a superb base from which to explore the area”

David and Kathryn, April 2021

“What an absolute gem... a gorgeous picture-postcard cottage in a beautiful location!

If you're looking for a complete break from the media saturation and the breakneck speed of the modern world then this could be just the place for you. A sensitively and tastefully renovated cottage, which maintains plenty of the old charm of the building and gardens, but with every practical detail thought through (and delivered) to ensure you have a comfortable and relaxed stay.

We arrived early to find Eunice (the owner) was there fine-tuning the place ready for us, so we offered to come back a little later... but instead of that Eunice put the kettle on, got the log-burner going and showed us around the cottage and gardens... explaining some of the history of the cottage and the artwork there... what a perfect welcome and start to our stay.

I already want to go back... I mean let's face it, a glass of red wine and a good book, in a comfortable armchair in front of a log-burner... what's not to love?

I could go on and on... but why not just look at the photos of the cottage, read the description, and trust that you will not be disappointed.”

“The weather was awful but we loved every minute of it - a stormy climb to the top of Frenni Fawr ending up in a hot shower and a cosy- up in front of the fire was a hight- light. We are leaving feeing relaxed and refreshed, fully intending to return to this special place.”

Sven, September 2019

“Fron Haul is a beautiful, charming cottage with an interesting history. It's perfect for a quiet break if you're looking to 'get away from it all'. The information which Eunice has compiled relating to the cottage and its restoration are fascinating and there is plenty of additional reading material to entertain you.

We would recommend this cottage to others looking for a cosy and tranquil getaway in a beautiful corner of Wales.”

“Whenever I have stayed at Fron Haul I have been reminded of Yeat’s words: “And I shall have some peace there, for peace comes dropping slow, Dropping from the veil of the morning, to where the cricket sings” At Fron Haul there are great vistas of the Preseli Hills, the broad sweep of the skies, vast golden sunsets, the gentle soúnds of wildlife but, above all. there is peace.”
