Boncath, Pembrokeshire
Quiet retreat in the Pembrokeshire village of Boncath. Country walks from the door and a short drive to the coast where you can join the coast path and marvel at its scenery. (2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom)
Part of a former corn mill, Felin Wen is a quiet North Pembrokeshire retreat in a pretty valley, surrounded by 15 acres of garden and woodland, two streams, a large bird population and the resident Iron Age pig whose job is to keep the woodland tidy!
There are lovely walks from the door and a 20 minute drive in any direction will take you to a variety of beach, cliff, riverside or hill walks, including the long beaches at Poppit and Newport Sands, the Pembrokeshire and Ceredigion Coastal Paths, Cilgerran Gorge and the Preseli Hills.
One mile from Boncath, Felin Wen is conveniently located for exploring the three counties of West Wales being within 20 minutes of Newport in Pembrokeshire, Cardigan in Ceredigion and Newcastle Emlyn in Carmarthenshire.
There was a working corn mill here for 200 years and it used to be a working farm too. The top two floors of the mill have now been converted to form the holiday apartment and we live in the farmhouse. On the ground floor of the mill, we have a stock room and tasting area for the wide range of preserves we make in a small commercial kitchen located in the converted farm stables. Everything is made by domestic methods: no noise but some lovely smells! You are most welcome to visit the kitchen and look round the stock room.
Felin Wen sleeps a maximum of 3 guests in 2 bedrooms: 1 king size bed and 1 single. Access to the apartment is via a south-facing patio behind the mill. The entry door is above where the water wheel used to be.
