Access statement for Brynheulog

Pre-arrival:
The nearest train station is Aberystwyth.

Frequent bus service between Aberystwyth and Cardigan calling at New Quay. The bus stop is 150 meters away. We are unable to provide a pickup service but there is a local taxi service.

Mobile phone service is very variable within New Quay depending on your service provider. Set your phone to WiFi Calling in the house. We provide free unlimited WiFi.

There’s a local CostCutter supermarket 5 minutes’ walk away as well as a Post Office and other shops. Most of the major supermarkets provide home delivery so pre-ordering is possible.

Arrival and car parking:
There’s no parking at the property, we recommend using the public car park 2 minutes’ walk away which charges about £10 per week. Stopping outside the house for loading/unloading purposes is generally OK.

The house is elevated from the road and accessed via 6 stone steps with metal handrails and gate opening onto a spacious enclosed level terrace with 2-seater wooden bench and outside light. There are 2 further steps to enter the front door.

Inside:
Downstairs is level throughout with wooden flooring. Stairs to both upper floors are narrower than normal. Support rails are not provided. A large cupboard under the stairs has hanging space and storage for a Child seat, ironing board, iron, vacuum cleaner and cleaning materials.

The Travel Cot is located under 1 of the single beds in the front bedroom.

Outside:
The fully enclosed rear garden is mostly paved with raised borders and is easily accessed from the kitchen via patio doors and 2 small steps. There is 1 further step part way into the garden and a small shed used for storage at the far end accessed by 4 steep steps.

Eco-friendly features
House has been completely refurbished with current high levels of insulation. No fossil fuels are used, electric heating only so low carbon footprint. Modern insulated hot water tank and timer controlled. (Very low carbon footprint)
