We have officially entered the rainy season, but that won’t stop us from having fun in Tenby, Pembrokeshire, there are still plenty of activities to do when the rain has decided to shower.
Long Walk On The Beach
Remember, the beach isn’t just for sunbathing and swimming in the sea on a hot sunny day, it can be perfect for a long rainy walk. In Tenby we don’t just have one beach for you to choose from, we have four stunning beaches, so come take your pick. However, our most well-loved beach is known as Castle Beach, situated in the middle of the four beaches and home to the famous St Catherines Island, this dog-friendly beach is definitely not one you want to miss. Even if it is raining!
Turdor Merchant's House
Tenby is surrounded by history, so what better way to spend a rainy day than by getting immersed in the history of our town? The Tudor Merchant’s House is a 15th-century townhouse located within Tenby’s town walls. Stepping into the oldest standing building in Tenby you will become transported into the year 1500 as you take in the furnished and decorated house just like it would have been all those years ago. But the fun doesn’t stop there! The museum provides costumes for all ages to try on and get lost in the history itself.
Visit The Lifeboat Station
A must-see while visiting Tenby is the Lifeboat Station, located on the north side of Castle Hill, especially as it is labelled as an ‘explore’ lifeboat station, which means it welcomes visitors to go inside and take a look around. When the boats are not on call you can have a look around the gift shop while also being able to see the two lifeboats housed in the station. And, if you are lucky enough you might even catch the lifeboat going out to sea.
Heatherton World Of Activities
This activity is a 5-minute drive outside of Tenby, but is loved by all ages! Heatherton is an award-winning family attraction with indoor and outdoor activities. These activities range from archery to paintballing, even escape rooms and 30 more thrilling activities for family fun or even some adrenaline junkies. Heatherton is open all year round and has a pay-when-you-play method, so no need to pay for entry – just pay for what you use!
Don’t just wait until the sun is shining to book a holiday to Tenby, this just proves the fun you can still have even if there is rain.
