I scream you scream, we all scream for ice cream!! There’s nothing better than enjoying a delicious, refreshing ice cream on a boiling hot day, and we’re going to give you the ‘scoop’ on the 9 best ice cream parlours in West Wales.

West Wales is home to some of the best beaches in the country, and we all know that a day at the beach isn’t complete without ice cream, so we’ve put together a list of our favourite ice cream parlours in Pembrokeshire, Ceredigion and Carmarthenshire.

Lollies Traditional Sweet Shop in Tenby is filled with the tastiest treats you can imagine. From delicious handmade fudge, luxury Belgian chocolates and American candy to luxurious ice creams and sundaes. They also do sweetie slushies (and alcoholic ones!), fresh ice cream thick shakes and ice cream buckets where you can pick up to 4 ice cream flavours, squirty cream, sauce and yummy toppings. Your furry friend will be glad to know they also serve dog-friendly ice cream!

One of nine Cadwaladers stores, you can find its Tenby location only a couple of minutes’ walk from Harbour Beach. Serving a range of ice creams (as well as takeaway food and drinks), this dog-friendly ice cream parlour is a favourite with locals and visitors. Still serving their famous award-winning traditional original vanilla ice cream, as well as plenty of other flavours, a variety of cones (including gluten-free) and a great range of toppings, we’re sure it’ll get your mouth watering.

Pointz Castle Ice Cream serve luxury gelato made on their farm on the Pembrokeshire coast in Solva. They offer a wide range of flavours, and we’re sure this will be a highlight of your holiday! Only a short walk from the beach below the farm, this is the perfect stop on a coast path walk or a day exploring the beautiful nearby Newgale beach. Some of their much-loved flavours have been Malteser, Ferrero, lemon meringue, raspberry and white chocolate, lime cheesecake, salted caramel and Eton mess- so there is plenty for everyone to enjoy.

The Scoop is a family-run business in Milford Haven that serves delicious ice cream using fresh milk from Steynton Farm, local cream and high-quality flavourings. They also serve freshly ground coffee and milkshakes, along with, of course, their tasty homemade ice cream. Indulge yourself in classic flavours, or try something new such as Jammy Dodger, cookies and cream, or mango and pineapple. They sell dairy-free ice cream and doggy ice cream so the entire family can enjoy a tasty treat! You can enjoy great views, so it really is a perfect place to grab an ice cream!

Heavenly in Llandeilo is literally that! Especially if you have a bit of a sweet tooth! Serving luxurious handmade chocolates, decorative pieces as well as scrumptious Italian-style Gelato in various flavours. We absolutely loved the strawberry and marshmallow ice cream when we visited! Explore the lovely village or head to nearby Dinefwr Country Park after your sweet treat. You can also even buy an ice cream hamper complete with 2 litres of their award-winning Ice Cream, Cadbury flakes, an array of cones, and a range of delicious toppings- perfect to take back to your cottage and tuck into!

Located in the wonderful town of Aberaeron, The Hive is the home of the famous, much-loved Honey Ice Cream. You can always use the excuse that they’re a healthy choice, as their ice creams are made with honey! The home of Hive Honey Ice Cream for 40 years, they are widely known for their unique flavour and quality, which change daily. Some that may tempt you are melon and ginger, mango, raspberry, gooseberry and elderflower and many others. Enjoy stunning views over the river Aeron and picturesque harbour while you tuck into your ice cream.
