Nordic walking is a specific pole walking technique which harnesses the power of the upper body to turn walking into a workout! It can be adapted for anybody and can be done anywhere! It is important to use the correct types of poles, planted at an angle. Here in West Wales, we have fantastic locations all around Pembrokeshire, Ceredigion and Carmarthenshire for Nordic walking.    

January in West Wales – the snow has fallen and the white landscape fills us with joy. The Cambrian Mountains were known for a fun winter day out called a ‘Welsh Winter Safari’. 

Enjoy a wonderful day at Bwlch Nant yr Arian, up in the Cambrian Mountains to see the Red Kites being fed. This is a great day out for the family at any time of year. It is a beautiful area, riddled with paths for walkers and trails for cyclists, along with adventure play areas for the children. It’s time to enjoy kite flying.
