Dare you take a ride on a Ghost Train? – join the Vale of Rheidol Railway for a frightfully good trip up the Rheidol Valley! Watch out for things that go bump in the night as the train departs Aberystwyth at 6pm and returns at 9pm. A Halloween feast will be served at Devil’s Bridge railway station. Dressing up is encouraged with a prize awarded for the best child’s costume.
The Small World Theatre: On 31st October from 10am get involved in the Catwalk Batwalk – join Small World Theatre’s fantastic selection of makers and artists to create a fantasy, Halloween inspired costume or accessory. Parents and friends are invited to watch the catwalk show at 3.30pm. Part of the Family Arts Festival.
‘Take the tour of your life through the rooms of Picton Castle and leave through the Gates of Hell!…’ The Cursed Tales – Halloween Tours, October 29th, 30th and 31st – only if your are brave enough (parental guidance advised!)
Visit the National Trust Dolaucothi Gold Mine for the ‘Ghastly Goldmines’ experience! The famous goldmines will be decorated for Halloween, so be prepared for a spine-tingling tour when the guides will be talking about life and death in the Victorian and Roman eras of gold-mining at Dolaucothi. The Visitor Centre and staff will be dressed up and you can join them for marshmallow toasting and lots of spookiness!
