Santa has less than three weeks to get everything ready for the big day so he would be well advised to sleigh over to West Wales where he can stock up on a huge range of special and unique gifts, foods and treats from some of the wonderful Christmas Fairs this month.
On the 7th and 8th December he can fly to the National Botanic Garden of Wales where the Christmas Craft Fair looks like being quite a cracker! Held in the Great Glasshouse there will be locally-made craft; Welsh wool knitwear, handcrafted jewellery, glass and driftwood, lovespoons, teddy bears, fairy wands, cushions from vintage Welsh blankets – something for everyone. Open from 10am – 4.30pm on both days.

Alternatively, he can head for the National Trust’s house and gardens at Llanerchaeron where the Christmas Fair, on 7th and 8th Dec, will have more than 70 local food and craft stalls. The house will be decorated for a traditional Christmas, with mulled wine to warm him up. Children can enjoy seeing Santa before hunting for clues to a Christmas gift in the walled gardens. A wonderful opportunity to support local businesses and buy original produce and gifts.
The St Nicholas Christmas Market at Saundersfoot will be open from 10am to 7pm on Friday 6th Dec; 10am to 8pm on Saturday 7th Dec and 10am to 5pm on Sunday Dec 8th. There will be cookery demonstrations and an entertainment area with live music as well as a range of wonderful stalls.
For a break from shopping, Santa can visit the Christmas Tree Festival in St Illtyd’s Church, Pembrey. 31 Christmas trees decorated by village organisations will be on show – a winter wonderland! Free admission (donations appreciated), tea/coffee and cakes served daily.
