Barn Cottage near Boncath in Pembrokeshire is a detached stone cottage, part of 200 year old Cwm Meigan, a former farm. Cwm Meigan is now 2 stone cottages, set either side of a quiet bridle path in an idyllically peaceful location. Barn Cottage is surrounded by fields and trees abundant with wildlife, particularly birds such as kites, buzzards and woodpeckers.
Located between the villages of Llanfair-nant-Gwyn and Blaenffos, the cottage is ideally situated to explore the Preseli Hills and offers walks from the door along the historic footpath connecting these two villages. The local village shop is 2 miles away and there are supermarkets in Cardigan (Tesco will deliver direct). The owners live in the cottage opposite and are happy to offer local advice if needed.
The Pembrokeshire Coastal path is within easy reach from Newport to Poppit sands, and there are other attractive beaches such as Mwnt and Ceibwr Bay. Other local attractions include the Wildlife Centre near Cilgerran, riding stables and the beautiful river and falls at Cenarth where fishing is also available. The famous National Botanic Gardens, Aberglasney and Old Cilgwyn Gardens are also a reasonable drive away.
