Ashdale Cottage

Ashdale is a traditional 120 year old stone cottage which is on 2 floors which means that the cottage has limited wheelchair access. The cottage is centrally heated throughout. The nearest bus stop is approximately 200m away. The nearest train station, Whitland, is about 10 minutes drive away. It is served by trains from London Paddington, Bristol, Cardiff etc.

There are accessible taxis at the station and it is recommended that taxis are pre-ordered to meet your arrival. Contact telephone numbers to order a taxi can be provided when required. You can arrange for shopping to be delivered, please contact Tesco.

Arrival: The private driveway has space for 2 vehicles and is firm gravel. The cottage itself is approached from this direction via a gate width 760mm and a small step. There is a small step in the entrance door. It is approximately 8 paces from the gate to the front door. There is a light censor which lights the full length of the path on dark nights. The width of the front door is 800mm. there is an area in front on our lane for an occasional parking space for a further vehicle. The rear garden is fully enclosed and mainly laid to sloping lawn but with a large level gravel area extending from the driveway round to the rear. Front garden is level with large flower borders.

Entrance: The front door opens directly into a partly open plan area of kitchen and snug room (with woodburner). Straight ahead are stairs which are carpeted and steep with a turn landing half way up. The top landing leads to bedrooms 1 and 2 and small toilet room.

Snug Room: The snug room is a good size (3x4m approx) with a sofa and armchair. There is a short pile rug on laminate floor, a slate hearth with a 2 door wood burner.

Kitchen: The kitchen is a good size (3x4m approx) with a laminate floor. The worktops are 900mm high with an inset stainless steel sink and built in hob. The fridge and oven are at low level. The oven door is hinged from the bottom. There is a range of standard height wall units for crockery and storage. There is a door and 3 small steps leading to the other half of the cottage – lounge/diner, bathroom, second staircase and bedrooms 3 and 4.

Bathroom: There is a standard step up to the door opening into the bathroom which is 760mm in width. Ceramic tiles are fitted to the floor. There is a toilet which is of a standard height, a corner bath (with integral shower) which is on a 250mm step up from the floor, a standard pedestal basin. Please note there are no hand rails in the bathroom.

Through 760mm door to- Laundry and Utility Room: Tiled floor, there is a standard size front loading washer and oil fired boiler. Space is limited.

Lounge /Dining room: This is a large open plan communal sitting and socialising area (7mx4m approx). In the TV area a corner sofa which seats 6 and a second sofa which seats 2. In the dining area a standard height large dining table seats 8. The French doors at the rear access the garden/patio gravel and have a threshold step, 10cm deep. The door is 138cm wide when fully opened. All four bedrooms are on the first floor.

Bedroom 1: This is entered through a door of 760mm in width. There is a carpet to the floor, a traditional bedstead 45cm in height from the floor to the top of the mattress. There is a double wardrobe and 2 bedside cabinets. Space around the bed varies from 400-1000mm NB all rooms feature Non feather duvets and pillows provided in each room. Sheets, duvet covers and pillow cases may be either cotton or poly-cotton.

Bedroom 2 : Again this is entered through a door of 760mm. Here there are 2 single bedsteads 55cm in height from the floor to the top of the mattress, a single wardrobe and a chest of drawers. Space around the beds is limited and varies from 300-700mm. Carpet on floor.

Bedroom 3: This is entered through a door of 760mm in width. There is a carpet to the floor, a traditional bedstead 45cm in height from the floor to the top of the mattress. There is a hanging rail, chest of drawers and 2 bedside cabinets.

Space around the bed varies from 400-1000mm Bedroom 4: Again this is entered through a door of 760mm. Here there are 2 single bedsteads 55cm in height from the floor to the top of the mattress, a hanging rail, chest of drawers and a bedside cabinet. Space around the beds is limited and varies from 300-500mm. Carpet on floor.

Through a door of 760mm is a small ensuite of shower (900x900mm base with 100mmm upstand) standard toilet and sink.
