Take a trip back in time (with every modern convenience) - discover the magic of staying in a romantic stone cottage in the heart of the mystical Welsh countryside. Come and stay in a charming converted 18C stone stable designed by an award winning architect, offering the highest standard of comfort on our farm in an area of unspoilt natural beauty and uncluttered roads for leisurely drives.
Penlangribin is a small farm of approximately 40 acres, made up of 12 acres of amenity woodland full of flora and fauna including a stream and badger sett; 26 acres of pasture grazed by cattle and sheep with a wildlife pond that feeds the waterwheel (in the process of restoration); and approximately 2 acres of grounds with ponds, streams, decking, terrace, borders and 1/3 acre vegetable garden. We are in a private secluded position offering private parking and secure cycle storage at the end of a 1/2 mile drive with direct access to the 22 mile network of footpaths and old Drovers Trails around the village of Felindre (Mill Town) in the Teifi valley which is 1 mile away by road. Felindre is home to two pubs, a Spar shop, a Post Office and the National Museum of Woollen Industry.
Y Stabl which is on two levels and sleeps two is full of character with exposed beams and original windows looking out at the waterwheel. Professional interior design and underfloor oil central heating ensure an harmonious atmosphere in which to simply relax and put your feet up. Satelite Freeview TV/DVD, radio/CD/cassette player games and books in the lounge. The kitchen is fully fitted and equipped with electric cooker, integrated fridge and dishwasher, microwave, coffee machine and toaster. There is a washer/dryer in the understair cupboard which also offers plenty of storage space for rucksacks.
Upstairs is a large bedroom with king-size bed and radio alarm clock and hairdryer. Bathroom adjoining has slipper bath and separate shower and shaver point. A glazed door from the bedroom leads to stone steps down to private garden with outside table and chairs and access to BBQ and gardens . All linen (including towels, tea towels and bathmats), electricity and oil are included in the tariff. One well behaved pet is welcome on the ground floor only at an extra charge of £25. Smoking is not allowed indoors.
As Penlangribin is on the borders between Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion and Pembrokeshire the attractions of all three counties including the National Botanical Garden of Wales and Aberglasney are within easy reach. New Quay, Aberaeron, the National Trust beaches of Penbryn and Mwnt and the tiny interesting villages of Llangranog, Tresaith and Cwmtudu dot the nearby Heritage coast famous for its birds , seals and bottlenose dolphins. The market town of Newcastle Emlyn is five minutes drive away offering restaurants, take-aways, independent shops, two supermarkets and castle. 30 minutes away is the village of Llanybydder, where the last remaining horse sales in the country are held on the last Thursday of every month. Local attractions include the railways at Henllan and Bronwydd, the Museum of Childhood, golf, fishing, horseriding, go-karting and lots of other activities. There are theatres at Cardigan (Mwldan) and at Rhoshill, nr. Cardigan (Rhos-y-Gilwen) and art studios at Henllan and in the local village.
