Y Gaer is a rendered stone built cottage with sea views near the beautiful Cardigan Bay. The cottage, which was originally one of the outbuildings of the owners’ smallholding, now offers a comfortable base for exploring the West Wales coast - rocky headlands with sandy bays, secret coves and rock pools, seals and dolphins.
To the rear of Y Gaer (which means The Castle in Welsh) is a Norman mote and bailey mound, which dates back to 1089, and from here there are panoramic views of the sea and surrounding countryside.
The nearest beaches, Aberporth and Tresaith, are just over a mile away and both are sandy and ideal for children. The local area offers more sandy beaches, cliff walks and plenty of things to do and see.
Further afield, Aberystwyth to the north and Tenby to the south are within easy reach as are many other coastal villages and inland areas of natural beauty such as the Preseli Hills.
Accommodation
Y Gaer sleeps 3 plus a baby in 2 bedrooms: one double and one single, with a cot available. All the accommodation is on the ground floor.
There is a spacious living / dining area with television and fully fitted kitchen with cooker, fridge/freezer, microwave and washing machine.
The bathroom has a shower, toilet, bidet and washbasin.
Y Gaer is a compact and comfortable cottage from which to explore the delights of this unspoilt area of Wales.
Outside
There is ample parking and Y Gaer has a private garden and patio area.
