Llantood Farm is a 200 acre working farm situated three miles south of Cardigan and 3 miles from the coast with panoramic views of the Preseli mountains where the stones of Stonehenge were transported centuries ago. Cilgerran Castle can be seen in the distance with the river Teifi winding its way to the sea.
The two cottages at Llantood have been carefully renovated from buildings dating from the eighteenth century, to provide luxury accommodation for a relaxing holiday in this beautiful, unspoilt area. They are well away from the farmyard and each has its own private garden with patio furniture. The gardens are fenced to provide a secure play area for children.
Y Cartws has been recently converted from a redundant farm building dated 1752 and believed to have been the original farmhouse. It is a very cosy and comfortable 2 bedroom cottage which is double glazed and centrally heated. One bedroom has a double bed while the other has two single beds. Upstairs also is a bathroom with bath and shower. Downstairs is an open plan living room/kitchen with a wood burning stove at one end, five bags of logs are provided each week. There is a comfortable sofa and an oak dining table. The kitchen is fitted with superior Shreiber units, cooker, fridge freezer, washing machine, dishwasher and microwave oven. Gates for the top and bottom of the stairs are available. A tumble dryer is available for shared use. Outside there is a private patio with table and chairs and a barbeque where you can relax in complete privacy.
Visitors are welcome to wander around the farm to see the various animals being fed and stroll across the fields to study the abundant wildlife or see the ruins of a moat and bailey castle. The 30 acres of woodland bordered by a small steam is home for foxes, rabbits, squirrels, buzzards, wood pigeon etc. Our friendly donkeys, Jacob and Mali, are always ready to make friends with anyone who is willing to feed them with a carrot.
The area has plenty of water sports available for the adventurous and there are several riding schools. The coastal path with its breathtaking views is popular with people of all ages and the seals in Ceibwr Bay and around Cardigan Island are especially enchanting. Walking on the Preseli Hills where, on a clear day you can see as far as Cornwall and Ireland, is also popular.
Come and enjoy a lovely holiday in the beautiful Pembrokeshire countryside in cottages that are inspected and highly graded annually by Wales Tourist Board.
