Willow cottage (sleeps 4) is a cosy, recently renovated stone cottage in a quiet secluded spot, nestled above the delightful village of Little Haven. Willow is one of ten cottages converted in the 1980s from traditional stone built barns and together still known as Woodlands Farm. Down the valley and over the lower lying fields to the south is a beautiful view of St. Brides Bay which invites the visitor to explore, the village beach being reached in about 10 minutes via a pleasant woodland path.
The village itself is full of interest with a post office and tea room, a pottery craft shop, galleries which display local artists’ work and a restaurant and other eating places.
An old slip-way leads onto the beach where children can investigate rock pools and adults laze in the sun, and it is used by boating enthusiasts who may moor their boats above the high water mark. When the tide is out, a beautiful walk is revealed across the sands to Broad Haven and for those who wish to go further, the coastal path leads to many isolated coves and inlets. Broad Haven itself, is a somewhat larger village where groceries can be purchased, and which provides for water sport enthusiasts with plenty to choose from including surfing, windsurfing, kite boarding, and sea kayaking.
Willow Cottage accommodates four people in a large double bedroom downstairs and a twin bedroom in a traditional ‘Crog loft’. The ‘Crog loft’ is accessed via a loft ladder from the living area and has limited headroom. The compact L–shaped open plan living space is comfortably furnished with a TV, DVD and CD player and a fully equipped and recently refurbished galley style kitchen. French doors off the lounge lead to a spacious conservatory with relaxing seating. From the conservatory there is access to a lawned private garden with a stone barbeque area and a picnic style table. There are beautiful sea views from the bedroom, lounge, conservatory and garden.
The recently refurbished bathroom is on the ground floor with toilet, wash basin, bath and over-the-bath power shower. The cottage has one designated parking space in front of the property.
Prices include electricity and bed linen but guests are required to bring their own towels. Pets are welcomed at an additional cost of £15/dog/week. Strictly no smoking is allowed in the cottage. Short breaks are available out-of season (October-April).
The other cottages in this group are Rowan Cottage and Bay Cottage and Ivy Cottage and Fern Cottage and Holly Cottage and Pine Cottage and Maple Cottage. Interested in booking more than one cottage? See the Group Availability Table.
