Clyn Glas (Green Meadow) is an old farmhouse situated in a spectacular position overlooking the valley where the Hiraeth stream runs on its journey to join the river Teifi. It is connected to the local woollen industry and it is believed that weaving was carried out on the premises. The two cottages at Clyn Glas have been adapted and extended from an old agricultural building which probably originally served as a cowshed. The cottages have recently been refurbished to a very high standard. They both have their own gardens with B-B-Qs and garden furniture. There are glorious views over the valley and large birds of prey (buzzards & red kites) can be seen circling overhead.

Both cottages have oil central heating, augmented by wood-burning stoves and immersion heaters, so that they are comfortable at any season of the year. Both also have WiFi internet access. They each have an electric cooker, dishwasher, refrigerator, freezer and washing machine, as well as a microwave oven, toaster, sandwich toaster and kettle. The kitchens are well-equipped and reflect the character of the cottages themselves. There is a television, video recorder, DVD player and CD/Radio in each cottage and a radio alarm in every bedroom. Bed linen and towels are provided but please bring your own beach towels and cot linen.

Upper Cottage has, on the ground floor, a fitted kitchen, a lounge/diner and a fitted bathroom with bath, shower, hand basin and w.c. Upstairs is a single A-frame bedroom with double bed, chest of drawers and clothes hanging facilities. It is suitable for a couple to stay on their own, though a folding bed and a cot are always available if needed.

Cwmhiraeth is a 5 minute drive from Newcastle Emlyn which offers a variety of shops, super markets, cafes, fast food outlets & pubs. There is also an excellent Indian Restaurant. The River Teifi which rises above Tregaron, in the Cambrian Mountains, flows through Newcastle Emlyn on its way to the sea at Cardigan (Aberteifi) a distance of over 70 miles.

The surrounding area is stunning and walks can be taken from the cottages. The sandy beaches of Cardigan Bay are only 20 minutes away offering safe bathing and surfing. Some beaches are also well suited to sea fishing. Dolphins and seals can be found off the coast and seal pups can often be seen at Cwm Tydu Cove and along the coast in the autumn. The Pembrokeshire Coastal path is also nearby and is very popular with walkers as is the beautiful town of Newport with its 9 hole golf course and yachting club.

The other cottage in this group is Lower Cottage. Interested in booking more than one cottage? See the Group Availability Table.
