A small, sandy beach with cliffs on either side, Pwllgwaelod faces west with views across Fishguard bay to Fishguard harbour. It is an enclosed, gently shelving beach with plenty of rock pools and low rocks to scramble on. A three mile walk from Pwllgwaelod around Dinas Island to Cwm yr Eglwys takes in the highest point on the Coast Path, so there are wonderful views on a clear day.
Car Parking: is free at the beach head and by the pub.
Food: is available from the refurbished Old Sailors pub/restaurant/café which Dylan Thomas was known to frequent in the 50s. There are plenty of shops, cafes and restaurants in nearby Newport.
Beach Facilities: Toilets and slipway.
Dogs are allowed but please be considerate to other beach users and remember you must always clean up after your dog.
