The Old Dairy is a large luxury cottage, fully renovated yet retaining its original character with partly exposed stone walls and beautiful old beams. A warm welcome awaits you in this family-friendly and dog-friendly cottage at Cryngae Mawr, a beautiful former farm and mill. Children love helping to feed the sheep, donkey, chickens and ducks and collecting the eggs. And then they head off to the fields where there’s plenty of space to play and run – for dogs, too!

Nestled amongst lush green pastures at the end of a private lane, this is a perfect location, set in the peace and tranquillity of the countryside but close to the nearby beaches and seaside villages of Cardigan Bay. Try somewhere different each day or revisit your favourite: perhaps the wide beach and shallow waves at Poppit Sands, the rock pools at Aberporth or the fish and chips and homemade ice creams at Llangrannog. Treat the children to a day out to Oakwood Theme Park, Folly Farm or a dolphin-spotting boat trip from New Quay. Then spend a lazy day relaxing at the cottage, soaking up the sun in the peaceful gardens, fishing for rainbow trout in the private lake or enjoying a picnic by the pond near the copse, dozing to the sound of the water trickling from the waterfall.

Accommodation
The Old Dairy sleeps up to 7 plus a cot in 3 first floor bedrooms: 2 doubles and 1 twin, all with sloping beamed ceilings and comfy beds. Beds are made up with crisp cotton sheets and fluffy towels are provided. Cots are also available on request.

Sleep in luxury in the brass double bed of the spacious master bedroom under the exposed beams of sloping ceilings, with antique furniture and elegant lamps – and with space for an additional single bed if desired. Step through into the bright en-suite shower room.

For guests in the second double bedroom and the cosy twin bedded room, there is a sizeable family bathroom with a bath and shower over. Downstairs is a separate cloakroom with WC and hand basin.

The stunning lounge features original beams, slate floors, and an inglenook fireplace with wood burning stove. After a day out in the fresh air, sink into the comfortable sofas and gaze at the flames or relax watching the TV/DVD. On sunny days, wander out through the French doors to the lawn or soak up the warmth sitting on the garden bench.

The fresh country kitchen/dining room is superbly equipped with dishwasher, washing machine, fridge-freezer, halogen hob/oven and microwave. The sun streams through windows set in thick stone walls onto the quarry tile floor and the dining table which has plenty of room for 8. Preparing and eating meals here is a pleasure - the convenience of a modern kitchen in a setting full of character and style with its beamed ceiling, antique furniture and stable door which takes you out to the private garden area.

Outside
There’s so much space to enjoy with a private garden to the rear of the cottage and a large shared lawn to the front. Eat out in the summer, BBQs available. Enjoy walks from the door through our fields and trees, take the dog for leisurely strolls along the network of quiet country lanes.
