The Hayloft is an imaginatively converted stone barn sleeping 3, set in secluded countryside between Solva and St Davids. The cottage has received a WTB 4* grade since 2008/9. It nestles in the quiet Solva River valley within the National Park, 300 yards from the hamlet of Middle Mill with its renowned working woollen mill and café, yet only a few minutes drive from Solva Harbour and the coastal path Blue Flag beaches of the St Davids peninsula. The area abounds in wildlife – seals, dolphins and seabirds fish in the pristine waters around the many rocky headlands and secluded coves, whilst buzzards patrol the air above an ancient landscape giving shelter to many rare plants and insects. Walks lead directly from the property to the dramatic gorge of the Solva river and to the old woollen mill at Middle Mill.

Come and enjoy the many outdoor activities – walking, surfing along the 2 mile Newgale beach or the spectacular Whitesands bay – both within 10 minutes drive – or soak up the medieval atmosphere around the cathedral and cloisters of Britain’s smallest city, St Davids.

Situated 250 yards from the public road within a small huddle of similar conversions within the conservation area of Caerfarchell, The Hayloft enjoys spacious communal grounds as well as its own sun-bathed private terraces. It sleeps 4 in 2 bedrooms (one double with washbasin, one bunk bedroom) within neat, uncluttered accommodation on 3 levels (only 2 -3 steps between each) with vaulted ceiling and exposed stonework in the lounge / diner. Both the bedrooms and the bathroom are on the ground level. Communal grounds are safe for children to play in and explore, whilst the cottage benefits from full double glazing, comfortable seating and beds, full oil fired central heating and a multifuel stove in the lounge The recently refitted bathroom has a 'P' shaped bath with screen and overhead shower, WC, electric fan heating and an heated towel rail. The spacious carpeted lounge has a TV/DVD player with Freeview digital channels, a CD/Tuner/Cassette and a comfortable settee and 2 armchairs, whilst the dining section has a table and seating for 4.

The fully fitted galley–style kitchen has a 4 ring electric hob/oven/extractor hood, microwave, and a refrigerator with ice –box.
There is a washing machine in a separate boxroom off the bathroom, and the cottage also has a cot, high chairs, ironing board, hairdryer, children’s toys and games, and garden furniture.

Outside, the property enjoys both morning and evening sun from its two terraces, and lovely country views. There is ample parking for one car right by the front door, and one 15 yards away, and ample space for a boat/ trailer and canoes. Bicycles etc can be securely stored in the cottage’s own lock-up a few yards away – please let us know when you book.

All bed linen, tea towels, electricity and heating are provided, but please remember to bring your own towels and beach towels.

The Hayloft is an ideal retreat from urban pressures in this unspoilt marine national park – a unique way to combine the seclusion and peace of a very special landscape with all the outdoor opportunities this magnificent coastline can offer.
