The Granary is a cosy holiday home for 2 (with room for a cot), part of the old farm courtyard at Plas y Wern. There are 7 acres of natural habitat with wild flower meadows and the sea beyond. We face due west to the Cardigan Bay coast and have spectacular sunsets. The skies are clear, the stars are bright, and the views amazing.
The cottage is within easy reach of 6 Blue Flag beaches, the Ceredigion coastal path and the Ceredigion Marine Heritage Coast renowned for bottlenose dolphins, seals and porpoise. If you have not yet discovered this area you are in for a treat. Bring your binoculars as we have watched the dolphins in the bay below from the comfort of the garden chair! We are keen boaters and can give advice on where to see the marine wild life.
We take pride in our cottages and you will find them clean and comfortable with high quality cotton linen on the beds. We are on hand for local information, and if you are arriving after a long journey we can shop for you or have a meal prepared for your arrival.
Accommodation
The Granary sleeps 2 in a king size loft bed with foam mattress and topper. The bed is box style on a mezzanine floor in the apex of the roof, which has a Velux window for star watching. There are plenty of plump cushions and pillows to aid a good night’s sleep or make a comfortable retreat for a day with a good book. There is space for a cot. The bathroom is on the ground floor and has a good pressure shower over the bath together with a wash basin and toilet.
Downstairs the open plan living area has a soft and comfy sofa and chair, TV and a log burning stove ready for a cosy night in cooler weather. The kitchen is well equipped in a country style with all utensils, hand made plate rack, hob, cooker and microwave. There is also a washing machine in the cottage.
Outside
From the living area, the French doors open onto a small patio with a bistro set of chairs and table for outside eating. The views from the enclosed grassed garden are to the sea, but also over the fields to Penbryn and beyond to the Lleyn peninsula. The garden has steamer chairs with full size plump cushions so you can take in the view whilst relaxing in comfort. There is adequate parking in the courtyard outside the cottage.
