The Granary at Brixtarw is a comfortably furnished first floor apartment adjoining the owner's farmhouse with its own entrance via an external staircase. Brixtarw is a former dairy farm of 100 acres, one mile outside Laugharne. Its land extends down to the Taf estuary and you are welcome to explore the fields, woods and marsh, and enjoy the riverside walks. The farm has extensive river frontage to the Taf estuary only a few minutes' walk away where fishing and other water activities are possible and kingfishers, otters and even seals may be seen. The huge beach at Pendine Sands is only about 5 miles away, with many others within easy reach. There is a pony trekking stable in Laugharne and Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire boast many castles and other centres of interest within an easy drive. With the popular seaside Pembrokeshire town of Tenby only half an hour away, The Granary is a good base for family days out to attractions such as Oakwood Leisure Park, Folly Farm, Heatherton Activity Theme Park, Kidwelly Castle and Pembrey Country Park.

The Granary sleeps 4 and a cot can also be provided. There is a double bedroom with a king size bed. The second bedroom has two 3' beds which can be arranged as twin beds or bunk beds with room for the cot. The bathroom has a bath with shower over, WC and washbasin. There is an open plan living room, kitchen and dining area. Facilities include a TV, DVD, video, radio with tape deck, washing machine, fridge, electric cooker and microwave. Outside there is a patio / sitting area with small garden and picnic table, chairs and gas BBQ for our guests. This is a sun trap in fine weather. Bed linen and towels are included. In cold weather the central heating is provided free of charge, otherwise the heating and water heating is by electricity on £1 coin meter. Well behaved pets are welcome at no extra charge and The Granary is ideally situated for taking your dog on country walks. Visitors are requested not to smoke in the flat. Wireless internet connection is available by request.

The nearby village of Laugharne is famous as the home of Dylan Thomas. Other interesting features include the magnificent castle, Dylan Thomas’ Boathouse and writing shed, the famous Brown's pub and the 17th Century church. Besides the functional shops there is also a silversmith, a glass works, an antiquarian bookshop and two craft shops. There is a pub within walking distance of The Granary and a good choice of eating places which welcome families. There are also various take aways in the neighbouring village of St Clears.
